Farm souls on Apocalyptic at the same time as levelling your weapons, you get quicker exp that way and more than enough souls by the time you're done.

You want to be in the spider place.

Yeah, that's where I ended up levelling the weapons. I just need to get the Gauntlet from level 3 to level 4 now and I'm done with those. Also didn't realise I didn't have to upgrade all of the wrath powers - I've upgraded the blade geyser to level 4 which took a huge chunk of souls.

In fact I think I only need 2.4k for the last Gauntlet move and I have more than 6k in the bank.

Then I'll rubber band the Riding trophy I think. Not sure whether to leave the environmental kills for the next play through or not (I don't know why I keep saying I'm going to do this, I almost NEVER return to a game once I've started another one).

I'd leave the environmental kills and go for it right at the start of a new game. Many objects in the game don't respawn so if you've been destroying cars and not killing enemies, you may run out of stuff to do the achievement with!

Polished most of the trophies off last night for this playthrough, so all I have to do tonight is go for the Destroyer. It really is a fantastic game. I want to give a special mention to the story - it's not going to win any oscars (unlike GTA4, amirite?), but I think it flows well and they didn't fall into the trap of trying to cram too much in there when all most people care about is the gameplay. In most games of this size I'd have forgotten what I was supposed to be doing by now.

So if I do go for the apocalyptic run I'll just need:

          Aerial Predator
          Improvised Kills
          Open Air Parking

          ... for the Platinum.

Really enjoyed this game, shame most people didn't really give a go. Found it tough in places but was a good storyline with good graphics. I never did get it done on the hardest difficulty, I think it would have destroyed me lol.

Great to see someone still enjoying this, hopefully someone else will read your comments and pick this game up and give it a go.

Yes, it definitely is hard. On more than one occasion I've been desperately rushing past enemies on barely a slither of health trying to reach the next door/portal/safe spot.

That's actually one complaint I would level at it. The combat is hard because the block ability is marred by the fact that you dash with the same button as you block - so the slightest tweak on the left stick as you block will make you dash (God of War managed the same kind of control without this handicap, because fixing the camera allowed them to use the right stick for the dash). Because of that I basically ignored block for almost the entire game, although I'm not sure I'll have that luxury on the hardest difficulty.

This will definitely be a GOTY contender for me. Along with God of War 3 and Modnation Racers.

Finished now. If I'd have known the end section was that short I'd have done it last night. Final boss was stupidly easy, but I don't have a major problem with that to be honest.

Quite like the way the story ended. The allusion to the

                other three horsemen

at the end was unexpected, and welcome.

Finally finished this tonight. It's a really good game I have only a few complaints.

I could never get to grips with the blocking. I had major problems with timing it right. At first I thought my controller was crappy, but I had the problem with a new one as well. Also, like you said, it's really easy to dash instead of block...

Some bosses weren't that imaginative were they?

The Spider Queen with her insane teleporting tricks and the Destroyer that just ran around like a scared kitten ... boss design needs improvement for the sequel

                    Just finished the spider queen.

Not upgraded anything as yet.. any recommendations?

Ive given up on this for the time being, I beat Taimat and have been plodding my way through it but its so unremarkable almost to the point of being boring, a shame as I really liked the way it started.

just finished the 360 version after roughly 50 hours playtime (save: 28 h) and i am tempted to say it's a flawed masterpiece.

                        negative:
                        - control could be more precise with jumping and aiming
                        - navigating the vast, complex maps in search of exits and items can get a confusing and difficult affair
                        - teleporters are sparse and their locations can be easily overlooked, resulting in overlong travels and some backtracking
                        - cutscene audio mix is incoherent (stereo only) which is a shame

                        strong points:
                        - great level design in terms of puzzles, variety of settings and atmosphere
                        - decent storytelling and good voice acting
                        - great combat, presenting a mix of Zelda and God of War
                        - a lengthy adventure with rewarding exploration and lots of stuff to collect

the game will most likely appeal to every Zelda fan and i dare to say this is definitely better than Zelda Twilight Princess. so, despite its flaws i can only recommend to stick with the game until the end. there are some great video guides which help if stuck. i got me the official strategy guide and found it quite useful too.

now i am looking forward to Darksiders 2, supposedly already in development and set for release in 2012.

Afraid I have to agree with Uli...

I was thinking about the ending to this game the other day, it's one of my favourite endings in a game!

When asked if he intends to take on the might Heaven and Hell as well as the charred Council alone, War says 'No, not alone...' he shows the broken seal and it cuts to the incoming meteors of other 3 horsemen

I was like 'Oooh ****! This sh!t's gonna be biblical!!'

well, it's been a while since i played and completed Twilight Princess (GC) so my statement is only backed up by the intensity of my feelings towards the two games.

however, all i wanted is to encourage Zelda fans to give Darksiders a try. it's a bargain anyway. also, until the next Zelda installment there's no other action adventure in sight that has the same epic proportions.

yep, the ending was very promising. if Darksiders 2 starts where Darksiders 1 left and fixes a few flaws the franchise has the potential to be a serious contender of the action adventure throne.
