    I was joking, chill man...

Secondly, the dungeons might play like a zelda game but if tiamat is anything to go by the bosses do not. There is a set pattern to her first wave of attacks, but by the time she starts rushing you then it starts getting screwy.
Sadly, War lacks the finesse and speed that link does, not to mention the bottles filled with fairies!

Tiamat has the biggest difficulty spike in the game. Just use the lock on, audio clues and get used to dodging, lots. Dodging is the key to most of the battles if you're playing on Hard. Also when she does the ground pound, jump. then it's just a matter of chipping away, don't get too greedy, a few hits, dash away.
After Tiamat the game settles down and becomes much more enjoyable.
Also don't bother levelling the Chaoseater.

To be fair I dont remember the fight perfectly but i do remember thinking that it was very much a zleda like boss, and im pretty sure it all has a set pattern. First shes flying around and you have to use bpombs to knock her down and then she lands and does different attacks and you just have to dodge them and hit her, all the attacks are signposted so as long as you dont try to rush the fight you shouldnt have too many problems.

Ive played alot more complicated and indeed more challenging Boss Fights than that one.. its not exactly Ninja Gaiden.

I think you just provided a descriptive template/advice for every boss fight in the history of gaming.

Explain that to the countless others who have struggled with her on the default difficulty. At least with the ng games I had the opportunity to stock up on healing items and fully recover hp before each boss.

There is nothing easy about tiamat, but congratulations if you can down her after only 1 or 2 tries on the hardest setting mr bmoc, I gave up after the 6th death on normal.

              .

Possibley, well yeah for alot of them anyway, but then thats my point really, its no harder than about 90% of bosses in every other game ever.

Like Jimmybob says its probabaly the biggest difficulty spike in the game, but thats not saying much as its not a particuarly hard game, its about as hard as a zelda game, which means its not very hard at all from a combat perspective.

In fact the only boss I really got stuck on was the one in the Ice Dungeon, for some reasonn it took me about an hour to figure out how to damage it. But I think that was just me being stupid as its probabaly obvious to most people what you have to do.

Well we are all good at some things and rubbish at others. I'm rubbish at beat em ups for instance. Having said that i can still come to the conclusion that the final boss in one game is alot harder than in another, or if they are of similar difficulty and thats all I'm doing here really.

All im saying really is that from my experience, within its genre, Darksiders is a relativley easy game, the combat Is enjoyable (besides the fact that a couple of functions are quite awkard) but it wasnt relaly a challenge to me. Tiamat wasnt that hard to me, I dont remember the exact ammount, but it had to be only two or three attemots before I'd learnt how to beat it. As i said above the only time I ended up really feeling challenged by the game was when I was actualy just being stupid and not using my brain so didnt know what to do next.

Have to back rmoxon up here. I'm playing on hard and i'm not finding the game difficult at all. Its a walk in the park compared to games like Ninja Gaiden, Devil May Cry etc. I suppose how hard you find it, comes down to how many of those types of games you've played. The combat is far closer to those games than Zelda. I'm now on the 3rd dungeon, i've not been buying any of the abilities, upgrades etc, and have only just noticed that you can use healing items, so it can't be that bad!

On Tiamat, you just dodge the fireballs using the dash/evade button. Every 3 fireballs the boss stops and rests for a few seconds. That's you're chance to throw a bomb plant on it. You can then explode that after the next 3 fireballs, if you're finding it tough to do it all at once. Evade its swooping attack, lay into when you can. Job done. Just get used to using the dash/evade button and you shouldn't have any problems with the combat at all. Hope that helps.

Im a big fan of NG, DMC and Bayonetta but when I played this I found the 1st boss mega hard compared to what I had played in the game so far. After that boss it got easier again, and i didn't have any major problems with anything else in the game.

I love this game to bits it gets better and better. If the 1st boss is putting anyone off battle through it and enjoy the rest of the game!

Many many people note that the 1st boss is a difficulty spike in the game. Just not everyone finds it that way i guess.

I've been through NG and DMC etc, I agree Darksiders isn't the same difficulty but this is definately a spike I wasn't ready for. Unfortunately I had expected there to be a health recharge before the fight so I didn't bother looking around\grinding before hand, so I only have one life bar remaining. And in my defence, every tough battle before that in the game had health stations within the arena.

I will attempt the fight tonight so thanks for the tips. Certainly not going to give up just yet!

Hold on, i'm a bit confused now! I'm playing on hard, 360 version. When i die on the game it resets my health to maximum. As i said i've not been using health items, i've only just noticed them on the inventory menu. I was thinking they seemed a bit pointless because of the maximum health refill when you die. Is that not happening for you?

Hmm, I can't remember to be honest! I only I only had one lifebar going into the fight and subsequent attempts have ended just as quickly as the first. I think with full health I'd have three lifebars, but again I can't quite remember. Either way, it isn't enough!

Just got to the Portal bit. Lots of people seem to say this game gets better and better the further you get. At this point i'd have to disagree. For me the game has gone steadily downhill right from the start, revealing itself to be thoroughly average. The story is vapid, with some of the most horrible cringe inducing voice acting i've ever heard, every gameplay element is ripped out of other far better games, it feels really cheap and tacky etc etc the list goes on and on.

It's laughably inept compared to even the worst Zelda game. Ninja Gaiden and Devil May Cry make mincemeat out of it too. Don't think i've bought a duff game in years, but this is dangerously close. Glad it was only ?10.
