The loyalty missions are jaw dropingly amazing. Simply stunning examples of game design, every one I've done so far is 5 star gaming enjoyment.

I don't think you can 'max' out the minerals mate, you can fill the bars up but the counter keeps going up after it's full.

When do the loyalty missions start coming up? I assume I need to befriend the characters somewhat to get the option to take one on but nobody seems to want to chat at the moment?

      I'm currently

on the human colony (where Ash is) that is under attack from the Collectors having added Garrus, Mordin, Jack & Grunt to the team.

Have you found any missons on the unexplored planets, they are incredible!

You'll get notification from Kelly that characters want to speak with you.

i've just finished it. Took me 27 hours

and nobody died on the suicide mission.

started again, but i don't know if i can face another playthrough just yet.

I really hope that you spend less time picking up team mates in the next installment, and more time on the main story line

            I enjoyed it.

I guessed who the collector general was as the effect was a bit too similar to when sovreign took over saren at the end of ME1

Looking forward to the third one now. I'll do a perfect run through of 2 at some point and keep the save ready.

did anyone pick up more than one extra weapon? i only seemed to get 1 different gun in each category?

apart from the revenent machine gun when you get a choice of guns mid mission

I'm tempted to say Thane's is top of the top. On the other hand, Garrus's mish has one of the most intense battle scenes in the game. Hmm... a case of "opposite intentions" there, perhaps.

Bethesda? Are you looking at all this? There is NO excuse for your stiff in-game avatars any more, nor for reusing actors so much! Fallout 3's characters, hell the whole game, seems so utterly sterile after playing this...

bethesda characters and stories have always been stiff and boring. frankly i was offended before that some people chose oblivion over me1 but you really have no excuses now.

I've just started but I think I might scrap my ME1 save as I want to play as a Female as I have heard the voice acting is v. good. Doesn't appear that you can gender swap on import.
Also think I have found a bug - just after 'waking up' in this first section, if you use RB to bring up your weapons selection it shows 'missing texture' for some items.

Luckily I went with a female from ME1. I just prefer looking at a lady from behind when playing a 3rd person view game. Nice hind in the casual wear (fully right on slider) and some amours make her look nice n' busty.

*Looks at self in mirror... has words.

Jennifer Hale does give most of her lines a weighty sense of world-weariness, light-heartedness and sarcasm (in any particular order and combination). Mark Meer comes across as Generic Action Hero Guy a lot of the time. Not bad, but Hale is vastly more enjoyable.

                        How awesome is Thane?

                          OH. MY. DAYS.

Just completed this, took me around 36 hours and I can honestly say that this is one the best games I have ever played. Stunning, just stunning. Not only does it improve on the flaws of the original, it adds so much more.

I thought we had been given the best in terms of narrative/story that gaming has to offer with Uncharted 2 but Mass Effect 2 just take it to a whole new level. From start to finish it feels like you are Commander Shepard and you are a part of this epic sci-fi world. The characters and the different environments are just out of this world, brimming with their own unique personality.

Gameplay wise, Bioware have refined mechanics to the point of perfection. There is the odd rare occasion where the cover system doesn't work as intended but that is just me nitpicking to be honest. The gunplay and biotic powers are just a joy to behold, infact the former would put most third person shooter to shame. I also love the way the conversation system works now, it allows for so many different outcomes. At times I really was hard pressed to make a decision, thinking long and hard about the consequences that one decision could have on proceedings. Brilliant, utterly brilliant.

I literally cannot wait to see how Bioware end this wonderful series with the third installment, it should be something truly special. As for Mass Effect 2, well like I said earlier, it is hands down one of the best games I have ever played and, without a shadow of a doubt, the best game released so far during this generation of consoles (sorry Uncharted 2!). Truly amazing.

EDIT - Oblivion? Fallout 3? Mass Effect 2 leaves them behind eating dust. No contest.

I was a nice person in the first Mass Effect, this time I feel like being a complete nob'ed Seems to have it's perks too.

Since the original Normandy incident I just haven't been my self apparently.

Really loving the game so far, the atmosphere around Omega is awesome! Much better than any setting from the first game.

Come into a bit of a problem though, my squad's reached level 4 but none of us seem to be earning any more exp for kills and the like, it's been frozen on 920 to next level for 3 encounters now

Edit: nevermind, a crappy gameplay mechanic to blame - why the **** must I wait for the end of a mission for my level up, hmm?
