OK, this game is fupping awesome. I've done all but the final race on the fourth group of races. On a couple of occasions last night I found myself doing a half decent job of a track on the first go through and finishing 11th/12th, wondering if it was just going to get horribly difficult. But then after a few tries I would slowly get up to the chasing pack, then after a few more tries working out where the shortcuts are (A lot of which I think can be ignored) and concentrating on the defensive options I would easily sneak into the final 3, often finishing in 1st.

The Sinkhole is a particular favourite of mine. Drifting right from the top of that second corkscrew to the bottom, overtaking a pack or racers while hitting every boost pad and finally onto that jump at the bottom is an amazing feeling. I love trying to get my drift to the point that I'm almost nose into the ravine! (You can also easily get the 1080 trophy on the first jump on this track)

I'm still absolutely petrified by some of the bonus objectives though. An entire three lap race of a tricky track without once touching the walls for example? Madness!

I still haven't taken it online yet though. Been keen to unlock as much as I can so I can create some cool stuff first.

thats exactly my experience on season 4 - learn the tracks, edge up thru the pack for a few races then string it all together, its very skill based and rewards improving your own ability and tactics.

I have every token too and only got 1 token awards left to unlock in the shop, I really want to get the unlock challenges too but some just look so hard, its doubly tormenting as you can see some of them unlock body types which if that hard to get will be quite exclusive.

Oddly I think the designer lets you download creations with standard in game bits you haven't unlocked (excluding paid dlc like the van pack), which means if you don't have a body type you could get a vehicle onine that isn't locked for editing and tweak it

Have you unlocked any of the grudge matches yet? I'm guessing they'll give you all the parts you need to make rival mod and kart, and some of those are fantastic. I think I'll finish "The Grim Tour" tonight and then go back to the beginning to get the remainder of the tokens and try for some of the easier bonus objectives.

Also, special mention once again to Biff Treadwell and Gary "Raisins" Reasons. I have a constant smile on my face when those two are talking.

Also, some of these mods are just insane.



I really hope this garners a solid community, and that they patch some of the apparent issues with the online. I've read this morning that the XP races only look for players in your current Modspot, which considering it's capped to 24 people and there's a high chance many of those are playing offline or creating, really limits your chances of a decent race.

Apparently the standard online races are fine.

I've unlocked and done a couple of grudge matches in the early seasons, you get given complete karts and the mod of the person you defeat. Can be tricky as the grudge match sets you insane points totals to get or puts you in a race to beat a character aided by several henchmen.

Some of the challenges unlock cool wheels or ride height adjustments too which I feel the need for.

Its like 2-3 games for me, I can happily sit there in the single player for an hour or so then waste the same time designing stuff. I was so proud of my devil in his opened up devil kart powered by a human heart engine yesterday.

I love the cut scenes, again can't fathom some of the reviews that call them cheesy or dull, they are so full of persoanlity and actually make me laugh, which games don't do that often.

No problem with the performance online and friendly races are easier to get, can't understand that design choice to limit XP races to your Mod Spot unless they didn't fancy coding up a full lobby/matchmaking system for some reason

so far I have done all the grudge matches bar the last one in Season 2.

Just upto the first race in season 3 as I am taking my time and trying to clear all teh achievements for each race before moving on

I recently downloaded the demo for this and wasn't expecting much. Came out of the demo thinking I need to own this game. It seems a brilliant little kart racer like LBP in how customisable evrything is.

I loved the auto populate button, it made my levels super quick and easy to make. Especially on my track which is a re-creation of Spa.

For those that haven't already; add my PSN tag as I'll probably be picking this up on the weekend and it would be cool to see everyone else's content they have made.

onto the final season now, not got every unlock in each season yet, have all bar one head to head in the first 2 but got a couple of gaps in 3 & 4.

think I'm getting slicker as it seems to be easier, not easy but only takes a few goes to get acclimatised on a new circuit and at least scrape thru.

Nice, I didn't know you could view creations online, not logged in for a couple of days so I'm surprised to see one of my in progress Mods has been downloaded 30 times. Is there anyway to download things from the website?

Anyway, here's my current stuff. Do you get any XP for people downloading your stuff?

Is there anyway to download things from the website?

Don't think so. Hopefully they'll patch it in, but I'm not sure. Would be great if you could queue things for download like you'll be able to in LBP2.

Yeah I think you do. And for people rating and leaving comments. Hell, they should give you create XP for just entering the Creation Station with the ridiculous amount required for the gold trophy! D:

You definitely do get XP for people downloading your stuff as I just logged in to download stuff I'd found and nearly went up two levels.

I've just noticed that Kevin Butler's stuff from that trailer are available now.
