yep level select is the only place to see how many orbs/masks you've still to collect

Finished this evening, the last level is fantastic - truly epic (Particularly in frame rate - fix this ****!), and a fitting end to the game.

I know NT have gone on record to say they'd love to do a sequel, but they should leave this story alone. The ending was interesting, unexpected and hugely satisfying for me. To try and carry on from that point would devalue it I think.

Hopefully they're allowed to create more new IP (Although this apparently hasn't done so well, so I'm not sure how well that will go down), because they do what they do exceptionally well. If they were to refine their gameplay somewhat, they have the potential to create genuinely great games - perhaps Capcom can help them with that?

EDIT: Argh, I want to give it a nine but some of the performance and gameplay issues are making it hard!

Yeah I gave it an 8, if the camera didnt zoom up your bum everytime you were having a fight I would have given it 9 though.

A quick question - can I now go back through the chapter select with my fully powered up character to get the last few orbs/masks/trophies? When I picked it last night it warned me that it would reset my checkpoint, so I want to make sure I'm doing it right.

Yes, you can. You can start a new game and keep all your original power ups. I bought the Hong Kong version about 1 month back which came with an original Monkey costume code. It also helps boost your power. You can only use the code once the game is completed though.

I've been through it on easy, normal and hard. Love the game but it's impossible IMO to find all the Energy orbs on all levels. I have all the masks though.

I'll confirm this tonight, but I think if you go back on chapter select (I've completed the game on hard anyway, so don't need to worry about progress related trophies) it will only show the remaining orbs and not all of them again? I hope so anyway, otherwise the decision not to provide an absolute number to track is even more infuriating!

Yes, that's right. Only the ones which you never collected are in the level The same goes for the masks although there will be a few that you collected still present as they are needed for the games story.

Cool, ta. Looking forward to going through chapter select on easy and teaching them all a lesson!

Just been through chapters 2 and 3, got 100% of the orbs on each as well as the masks. Also managed to get the Untouchable trophy (Recommend chapter 3 on easy, it's a doddle).

I'm not looking forward to collecting some of the orbs later down the line when you need to get them under duress.

Sounds like you really enjoyed it Number45 (as did some of the rest of you!) - spot on summary you gave there too. I agree with what you said there. Frame rate wasn't so bad for me, my pet hate is more tearing which it did a bit of on the 360.

The story was great I thought, but like you say some things are sketched over a bit quickly and you do think 'huh?' and it's a shame really.

This is one of those titles that makes you think, that if they had another 6 months of Dev time, to iron out a few niggles, and maybe flesh things out just a tad more it would be even better than it already was. That said with the DLC announced, maybe this is what they intend to do...

Started this a coupla nights back on Hard difficulty. Which I usually never do, but I figured it'd be about the same as Castlevania's normal setting.

                        Great, great game.

A little wonky, sure. The animation veers from some of the best I've ever seen, to GTA3 pedestrian caught in a lampost-style glitchery.

But yeah, it's just massively entertaining. Some of the set-pieces are quite original and really creative too. Like the bit on the bridge where you have to

use a moving vehicle as cover

, and the giant robo Dog chase was just . The actual fight with him is a disappointment mind.

The combat is so visceral and dynamic looking. You really get the feeling of boshing mechs upside the head with a giant stick.

                        Looking forward to playing more.

I also really like Andy Serkis's work in this. For me he makes the game even more enjoyable. He's a fantastic character actor and really brings the character to life. Playing this makes me want to track down a copy of Heavenly Sword - which whilst some say isn't great, passed me by the first time!

OK, I ran through chapters 4 and 5 last night with a fine-toothed comb and I still didn't manage to get 100% of the orbs (98 and 96 IIRC). Patience waning.

I've never liked anything he's done. He's a horrendous actor in every regard. And arrogant as hell too.

I was about to abandon playing Heavenly Sword entirely, until I switched to Norwegian voice acting. Much better. Not that it removed his ugly mug from the emperor.

I second the Serkis hate. If it wasn't for Lord of Rings fanboyism he'd be forgotten, I think, and rightly so.
