Works better with Move than it does the Wii pointer. IMO.

I just see Isaac's body fall apart on its own alot of the time because something detonated a decent distance from me.

        Loved the

section, they really mess with your mind there,

especially if you remember the layout of the ship and what sections you were attacked in.

Ellie is pretty cool, great voice acting
Ive been playing on normal, Im gonna do Zeaolt on a New game + runthrough as you can still get the achievment that way and i imagine its very hard if you start from scratch.

On normal you have to be really close to get hurt by those bomb things, I dont know why it would be different on a harder difficulty though, according to the game the only differences in difficulty levels are how much ammo you have and how much damage the enemies do to you.

The exception to all that is the hardcore mode, which is aparently the same as the second hardest setting, the diference is that in hardcore mode you only get to save 3 times in the entire game and there are no longer any checkpoints besides the one at the start of the second disk on the 360 version. It really does sound hardcore, considering how many times I have died on normal it sounds virtualy impossible too.

Just started playing this, enjoying it a lot.

As with the first game, it's more successful as an action game than a horror (for me at least). They've made it so you feel even more of a badass so far. Most of the scares are jump scares although there have been some nice unsettling moments (the kid trapped in the washing machine).

Also kinda wish games as a whole would move on from the whole "scripted sequence behind bulletproof glass" thing. Having a scene where a mother and child get killed would be so much more harrowing if I knew I *could* have saved them and just failed or that something I did with good intentions lead to a grisly death for someone.

Anyhow, shooting limbs off is as fun as ever and they've worked in improving the game in almost every area (although I wish they'd gone the bioshock route of how you select powers, this game requires you to remember far too many keys!), more cinematic, better visuals and it looks like they've put some effort in to ensure you don't just the plasma cutter the whole way through (like I did in the first).

I plan to beat Extraction first and then NG+ this game on Zealot. Its true that the game gets easier if you know whats in the room. I do loathe some enemy combinations Visceral ultimately starts to throw at you though, like Pukers + Lurkers while you're being chased etc.

Weapon choices are pretty drastic here, some rooms became fairly easy once I switched some weaps around for others. Especially alt fires and some weapon combinations can be live savers. The Plasma Cutter certainly doesn't cut it later in the game, takes too long to kill with.

This game is fantastic, a massive step up from the original and that was one of my fav games. The AI is relentless in this and they make the original necromorphs move like the older generation.

Just got onto chapter 10. Will definetly pick up the 360 version in the future too.

The scripted sequences are really there to build the atmosphere though, if you could save everyone in the game from their exploding offspring then it wouldnt seem half as grim would it?

Alot of the more cinematic sequences in this are like watching a film (like that completely jaw dropping sequence where

Issac is in a rush and ejects himself out of a building and flys through space before crashing into another building

. Its all spectacular stuff and wouldnt really work has as well if it was done in an open ended manner, I think the same applies to the sequences like what you mentioned.

Also, I know I probabaly shouldnt, but I actualy find the exploding baby creatures hilairous... is that really wrong?

i'd love to see this game engine used in a more down to earth resi type game - the futuristic setting is good, but not my favourite.

Yeah, imagine how good Alan Wake would have been if it had action like in this game as opposed to the horrible thrown together mess it had during its shooty bits.

                          I love this game!

I'm up to Chapter 3 and can safely say that they have delivered exactly what I was hoping for. Really scary in places and on Normal the challenge is just perfect for me.

Playing on PC at 2560 x 1440 the game lighting is just incredible. The way the sounds, lighting and settings create atmosphere is just brilliant.

Lets face it, it never gets old slicing and dicing!

The combat is pretty much the same as the first game.

Theres more variety in how the enemies attack you now though, as someone else mentioned earlier it seems more important to use different weapons in this one, It seems like there is less ammo laying about too so unless you buy loads form the shop attacking enemies with telekenesis is actualy alot more useful this time around too.

i pretty much used the cutter and pulse rifle through the first game, and found these the most reliable... is there anything in the 2nd that just HAS to be used? the javelin sounds good?
