Yeah, wouldn't be a big fan of the Gerudo Fortress. I also think it comes at a bad point in the game. I think it's something that would have been a little easier to take somewhere around the middle of the game - a palette cleanser of sorts. But where it is, I just found myself wanting to get on with the game while, instead, I was looking for one missing carpenter for a very long time.

It's been a while since I visited OOT so I'm enjoying all the memories this is bringing back but I'm finding it a chore to play in 3D. As lovely as it looks I'm still getting a feeling of nausea after about 10 mins and trying to keep the damn sweet spot while you're in the throes of a hectic battle or being encouraged to move the thing about to look is just too annoying. I'm beginning to think that stuff like Starfox using the gyro and faster games like Kid Icarus just aren't going to be much fun on the 3DS past the 'ooh, look at the lovely 3D effect' phase.

Finished this last night and for me personally it still has to be the best game in the series. After finishing this its now making the wait for Skyward Sword much more unbearable, hearing about how that one starts makes me even more excited.
I don't know why people think that The Water Temple is the worst, i think its my fav out of all of them. I think the Forest Temple is the suckiest.

This lets you proper explore. Next gen games should take note of the expansiveness and what it lets you do in the world.

Seems much smaller and less epic now, though, OoT. Very few overworld locations, and mostly no big differences between them in the two time zones.

Finished it over the weekend finally (stopped playing just before the shadow temple before).
Ganon's castle was incredibly annoying:
The LikeLike that swallows your tunic then spits you into a pit so you can't get it back without going to a store (and unlike every other one in the game, is invincible to everything but magical arrows).
A segment halfway through that's only possible for you to do if you've got the fire arrows, I didn't have them, I was stuck on that segment for over an hour before consulting Gamefaqs. If you are required to use an item that is easy to miss, the game should either give you a hint that you need an item you don't have (like it does with the giant blocks in the gerudo dungeon) or make having that item a requirement to actually get in (like with Djinns fire and the shadow temple).
Not entirely sure if this was a glitch or deliberate but fighting Ganon, (taking an age as if you mess up early and he knocks out a load of the floor, it becomes incredibly difficult) I seemed to fall through the floor and he reset (almost causing me to chuck the 3DS at a wall as I'd been fighting him for 20 minutes and he was almost dead). Seemed much easier when I knew what I was doing second time around though.
Overall enjoyed the game but was glad to see the credits rolling.

Congrats on finishing. I actually remember having a similar frustration with the Ganon fight when I did it on N64 - one of the benefits of having done it before was knowing what to do this time around (I actually found the Forest Temple boss and the Bongo guy the hardest in the game). I actually have very little patience for boss fights these days. The good thing about most of these Zelda bosses is that, while sometimes hard to figure out, once you know what you're doing the game doesn't make you do it for half an hour before they drop. The last battles here do take considerably longer though.

Sword always bounced off when I tried to defeat it when it was stunned, maybe there's a short timer or something. Another annoyance with ganon's castle is that none of the enemies drop arrows and there's only a couple of jars with them. I had to leave a couple of times just to stock up (and that was with an upgraded quiver).
The worst part of Ganon is he actively punishes you for taking too long making it much much more difficult the first time. Also, him knocking you off, then doing an impossible to avoid ground slam when climbing back up = RAAAAAAAAGE.

I found Ganon's castle + Ganon relatively easy compared to the rest of the game.
The most annoying dungeon for me was the Shadow Temple, think i died twice on the boss and going through the whole bloody dungeon again to get to it was really winding me up.
I tried playing Master Quest but it was a bit too hard
Overall though i think this game has had the best 3D of any game so far, looking forward to seeing what they do with Star Fox as i never bought that game on n64.

Conversly I didn't struggle too much with the shadow dungeon boss (although I did use a fairy). Just a case of being really fast with the aiming and struggling to get the lock on working properly (I know this game invented camera lock ons but they're done so much more effectively nowadays) . When I fought him I realised how incredibly linear the dungeon was and that it'd be a pain to get back him him though, perhaps that was driving me on.
Also didn't realise on Ganon's castle
if you do outside after getting the gloves, you can get the 'halve all damage' fairy

Started this on the bus into work this morning and managed to finish the first dungeon. Despite not being a hardware pusher even after the updates it's still a great looking game and the 3D effect is really well done. I'm surprised at how well the controls work too despite the reduction of buttons and things like aiming the catapult aren't too disjointed either. Managed to whoop Gohma's ass no trouble so on the return trip home it's time to venture into the forest.
