There are quite a few things that affect eye strain for the 3D.

Low frame rate (or a frame rate that frequently dips a fair bit), requiring you to shift focus between forground and background detail frequently, things suddenly appearing in your face due to the camera shifting, having to stare into the distance.

Basically all the issues in Rayman 3D are headache fuel.

Zelda's pretty good, possibly due to the way the original camera was designed. The only aspects of it which lend themselves to headaches is having to shift focus for text boxes and the fact the game lends itself to long playing sessions.

I've not actually been playing it a great deal in 3D because it's pretty difficult to hit the sweet spot in bed (story of my life *baddum tsh*) and I've been playing it mostly in bed.

I might be on my own here, but I love aiming by moving the 3DS around. It feels so natural and it's amazingly accurate. The analogue stick feels sluggish by comparison. I just wish there was an option to set the 3D to turn off when you start aiming. I always do it manually then forget to turn it back on...

For me, the biggest factor that can cause eyestrain when playing 3DS, is being tired. Makes my eyes feel really sore and dry the next day. I think your eyes start to become accustomed to the 3D the more you use it though. When i first got my 3DS it was like someone had smashed me in the eyeballs with a sledgehammer, after playing in 3D for just 30mins. I can now play for about 3hrs straight on max 3D no problem. Actually, i'm convinced its sending me cross eyed. But hey, its worth it for a game this good!

Not sure if its my imagination, but the further you get into Zelda the stronger the 3D seems to get. I've just started playing as adult Link, and there seems to have been a fairly big jump in both graphics and the 3D effect itself.

I agree with Hazuki's last statement. I'm seeing ghosting as Adult Link that I never noticed when I was toddler Link.

Given that it seems unlikely that anything has changed in the 3D itself, is it possible that you're just holding your 3DS at an ever so slightly different angle as Link is taller and you're sort of looking around him in a slightly different way?

The thing with the ghosting for me is that I've found I can always get rid of it by holding the 3DS a little further away and at a very straight angle. The sweet spot seems to be pretty tiny. A pain in the ass at times, to be honest, as part of the freedom with a handheld is being able to be anywhere, whether in bed, curled up on the sofa or whatever.

It is a shame that the motion aiming and 3D are pretty much mutually exclusive as the aiming is really responsive. But the 3D won out for me and I just went for normal circle pad aiming most of the time.

Coming out of the temple of time as adult link, the moon halo ghosting I cannot get rid of nomatter what I do!

Also, I failed. I couldn't remember how to get

              I forgot to get the

and had to do it again and what do you know, after doing it first time initially it took me several goes to do it again!

I am terrible at fishing in this game. Can anyone help please?

I don't know if there's any knack to it or if it's random chance but, for me, I'd pull back when I hook the fish and then just hold A, moving the rod left or right - if the fish faces left, I'd move left so it wasn't going against my direction. I have absolutely no idea if that makes a difference. Could be purely placebo effect but that's what I did.

I thought i'd posted that, turns out i hadn't. Soon as i started playing as adult Link, the 3D seemed to get stronger, and i noticed that there was LOADS of ghosting. In the 12 hours i'd played as child Link the ghosting was minimal. Hardly ever happened. Returning to the same locations with adult Link, the ghosting is that bad in places there are 2 distinct versions of him on screen, along with countless other objects all at once. Main hall of the Forest Temple is really bad.

Doesn't matter how you hold the 3DS, what brightness you've got it on etc it doesn't go away. Its still there if you look through one eye. Only thing you can do to get rid of it is play in 2D. I think the graphics do jump up in quality, and the 3D certainly gets stronger. That's the only way it can be explained. I'll be interested to see how Luigi's Mansion 2 copes. That game will be full of dark scenes with bright lights and lightning flashes etc.

I'm quite lucky as I get very little eye strain with the 3d unless I've had a few pints of Guinness
Fishing I found hit and miss and lastnigt I was trying to get the golden scale, eventually caught a 24 pounderI was trying everything as I kept losing the fish
Only got ganandorf's castle to go but I'm trying to build my heart and bottle collection up before the ultimate battle

Not sure if anybody on here ordered with Play and didn't recieve the pre-order 3DS slip case. They've just contacted me to say that its now in the post. Makes this game even more of a bargain. Best game ever + free 50 track soundtrack cd + free lovely Zelda 3DS artwork slip case. Nice!

Really enjoying this all the great memories. It really does look great and the 3D is used really well. Forgot how much games nowadays hold your hand. This lets you proper explore. Next gen games should take note of the expansiveness and what it lets you do in the world. The sound is amazing too, especially using headphones. I prefer this visual style to Wind Waker which I feel while bold was an acquired taste. The only downer is the ghosting, holding the 3DS father away helps. I know others have mentioned too but it`s not so bad it ruins it, just sometimes annoying. It`s as great as I remember and such a vast game. I hope the 3DS can use the 3D this well in future titles.

Came across my first sore point, Forest Temple sucked. :/ Those Skeletons with Shields are big douche's.
