I'll tell you what, if anyone really wants them I will sell them to you for a tenner.
I never pre-ordered either. He asked if I had, said no and got an ocarina, poster and a deku tree in a tin thrown in at Gamestation....they also had an N64 set up with the original on...my god, were the games really that blurry back then? haha..

finally used the 10 quid on my points card too!
Brothers wedding tomorrow so I have an entire hungover sunday to get stuck into it!

I think Ocarina of Time was actualy one of the few games that pulled the N64's blurry effect off pretty well at the time. The opening Village looks like it could be part of a swamp so the thick mist went with it.

Of course playing the 3DS version you can now see that although there is still a bit of fog about it wasnt suppose to look like it did at all really, and it was just the limitations of the hardware.

think 5 year of 360 HD games clouded my mind, also a pal unit on an LCD tv made it worse...I had a japanese one with fancy scart lead so it wasn't too bad back in the day!

had a bout of nostalgia while I was in there so was going to pick up Mario64 DS too....but its still 28 quid!!

Anyone playing this in 2d @60fps?

It's still 30fps in 2D mode. You gain some anti-aliasing, but the framerate stays the same.

The framerate is much more stable in 2D though.

This is my only problem with these 3ds games, while I'm playing I am constantly switching between 2d and 3d. the 3d feels like the way I should be playing it but 2d seems to have more advantages, a better framerate, better graphics and no ghosting.

Its like you cant win either way... or maybe you win both ways, but niether feels like youre getting the complete package, and its frustrating.

Oh, have to say I am a trifle disappointed it isn't 60fps.

Pfft. It's still amazing. Not even noticed the frame-rate if I'm honest.

pfft! frame rate! WHAT! Why on earth are we talking about frame rate in this thread?

In fact, this is exactly the topic that makes me sigh heavily about modern gaming, its absolutely bollocks. SO WHAT if the framerate drops a fragment or two, what about everything else?!

I can't help but think people are spoilt, so so spoilt.

                          - thank god for remakes of OOT that show how games are supposed to be made. It is quite comforting yet also quite embarrassing.... that after all this time, a remake of a decade old game remains one of the greatest games. Perhapse too much time is spent on FPS? ;-)

That's the thing, with "modern gaming" frame rate drops are just lazy.

I too feel as the game is much easier this time around. I beat Gohma before she had even released her spawns on me. And the werewolf before the maze went down after a single hit. Really dislike this change (if it is indeed a change), as I've always felt the Zelda games could benefit from being more challenging, not the other way around.

This didn't turn up from Play. However Darksiders did. I think i might have ruined my OOT 3D experience, the one i bought the 3DS for in the first place! There's no way i'm going to enjoy Ocarina as much as i've enjoyed playing through Twilight Cathedral on Darksiders. For one the combat's a million times better. Genuinely challenging in places and packed with Devil May Cry/Bayonetta style action. The combat in OOT is going to feel really dated and boring in comparison. I'm genuinely at a loss, as to how a developer i've never even heard of, have created a very "generic space marine with gruff voices" style game (which put me off getting it/reason i'm only just playing it), yet have managed to, at the very least equal, if not better, Nintendo's recent Zelda efforts. At the same time they've freshened up the series more than Nintendo have managed to in god knows how many years. In the words of Alan Hansen - "SHOCKING"!
