Seeing as you chaps have all been finishing this off and complaining bitterly while doing so, can we expect cheap second copies turning in the For Sale part of the forum?

I found the best way to defeat the 1st boss regardless of character build was to throw canisters at him. He seems to hate that and goes down really quickly. 2nd and 3rd boss fights are a nightmare for non-armoured stealth characters though coz they can one shot kill.

Only done the first two boss fights but neither were difficult even with a stealthy build.
        First you

throw canasters to stun, second you shoot the bits on the wall to stun. It even tells you to do it!

          If you've electricity protection

the final boss is so easy it's comical. Take out the turrets from cover, put in the override, then run up beside her in the corner and hide then twiddle your thumbs until you get to choose the ending

I thought the last boss was a joke compared to the one that came before. There's a hand uber weapon right before you get the last battle, and using that makes everything simple.

Thanks for the tips on the 1st boss,

It took me about ten tries to kill him and my controller nearly went out of the window several times, being a non lethal build I was a very fragile sneaker type and being locked in a room with a combat monster was not much fun, especially when somehow even though he didn't know where I was he had the uncanny ability to throw grenades right on top of me. In the end i killed him by a great stroke of luck. Shocked him with the pistol which got me three good headshots in with the shotgun, then I cloaked and ran away while he frenzied. I was lucky enough to get him into a corner where i threw a stun grenade, followed by a gas grenade, followed by 3 more stun grenades. The result was that I managed to keep him in the gas long enough for him to die!

Knowing how tough that was is it worth me buying armour and a typhoon to get me through the remaining locked room forced combat sections?

Pretty much essential for effortless boss encounters. Just do what everyone else does:
                spam typhoon > nutri-grain bar > typhoon > nutri-grain bar...

Just epitomises how bad (or ill thought) the boss battles are if tackling them the way they were intended is frustrating. Yet typhoon = win button.

                RE: abigsmurf
the way I did it was:

stealth > quickly run around activate switches > punch in code (through talking down Darrow) and spamming grenade launcher at glass window

I think by the end of the game (regular difficulty) I had x26 unused Praxis kits.

If you pre-ordered the game, the UR-DED remote mine things are great against the bosses too.

Just to add something that's not boss/stealth vs. guns related to this thread:

If there's a best soundtrack of 2011 category at the end of the year, this will likely get my vote hands-down.

                    Also: best

                    Sheeeeeeeeeeeeit

                    of 2011

                      It's a good soundtrack, but I think I still prefer Bastion's.

Been a damn good year for game music so far though, and it should only get better with new Jesper Kyd and Jeremy Soule scored games due this year...

Managed to finish it the other day. Very enjoyable game, even though i felt it dipped a little when you went to montreal. Ending, well was left kind of dissapointed really. Not sure what i expected, but expected it to show you abit more of the path you choose.

To be honest I felt it was 5 hours to long and one certain boss battle had me nearly committing suicide (you know which one). Only way I found to do it was cheat save in the end (do a little, save, save again etc)

Overall, loved the feel and style of the game, has a really nice cyberpunk feel to it.

                        Definitely an 8/10 for me.

Finished this last night and absolutely loved it for the most part. I didn't find it dragged towards the end, and if anything I'd have liked to have seen more of the

base in the middle of the ocean

                          and also more of the

resourceful, half-life style puzzles that replaced sneaking

                          .

The bosses were my main downer, but things only started to drag elsewhere when I was starting to play it a bit routinely. It definetly has an air of Bioshock in that you get more out of it the more creatively you play it....I soon ended a slight lull when I iced a couple of fellows by lobbing a vending machine down a flight of stairs.

                          Magical.

The few areas I successfully 'ghosted' easily made for the best gameplay slices of the year so far, and even though the story didn't quite grab me, the attention to detail was just bum blowing.

                          Blimmin' loved it.

Finished this last night. Absolutely loved it the whole way through. The "ending" was a bit of a let down

It seemed to just finish. All 4 endings were basically the same as there was no consequence. It just played nearly the same video with different (but again nearly the same dialogue) over the top. It didn't affect any of the characters in anyway and still no matter what you chose, Megan goes to work on the grey death!

other than that though, absolutely fantastic. I loved the setting the music and hacking peoples computers to read their emails! The game took me ages as I did a stealth playthrough and would always completely explore an area, looking for the different ways you could reach the objective.

Surprisingly I didn't have any trouble with the bosses either. Sure I died a few times against each one, but then the time I did beat them I did so with ease. Not really sure what I did either, just shot them for a bit and retreated! I actually thought the last boss fight was really fun too, but maybe I just got lucky/happened to be on the same page as the developers.

Anyway, contender for game of the year for me. If only it hadn't come out in the same year as portal 2 (and I expect zelda and arkham city)

I struggled with the third boss, took me about an hour of retries and eventually loaded an earlier save (before the lift) so I could go and scout some goodies. I stumbled upon a piss-easy way of killing him so if anyone needs help... all you need is the strength aug:

load the previous auto save, which puts you back about five minutes before the decoy lab explosions. Follow the main road around until you reach an area with a turret and two heavy dudes. You need to take out the two heavies without touching the turret or computer, then hack the computer and set to Enemies. Carry the turret all the way back to the lift, and make sure you carry it out of the lift at the bottom. When the fight starts run either back\right or forward\left and run to the opposite side of the arena, where you will find your lovely little turret waiting to take that bastard down
If, like me, you made a silly descision earlier on, then you won't be able to move the turret at this point, so just hang around that area. The turret isn't going to last long so blast the guy with the best you've got while the turret has him pinned. The fight will be over in under a minute.

I didn't have a single combat focused augment for the first boss having spent all mine on hacking, jumping, inventory size and the like but found him a breeze, don't get what all the fuss is about:

First the guy is standing next to an explosive barrel so that did some damage and the game clearly signposts the battle ahead, there's at least two rocket launcher caches in that level before you get to him and there's plenty of dialogue and cut scenes indicating Jensen's intent to confront them. I grabbed the rocket launcher just to sell when I got back to Detroit. After the explosive barrel you just need to unload 3 rockets into the guy and a few pistol rounds. Didn't have a single strenght, protection or stealth augment on me and I'd spent the entire game tranqing, stun gunning and knocking people out up to that point.
