    Does the knight at the

Lastly I'm out of humanity and the rats aren't dropping. Any tips?
If you drop any items or equiopment you dont want they manefest as vagrant enemies in other peoples games.

Doing this has got me loads of humanity. Though I'm not exactly sure why. Maybe it is if the vagrants kill another player?

That said, I think I'm done with it. I'm only up to the Taurus Demon and it is really bumming me out. I get to the boss, it kicks my ass before I can get a handle on it and then it takes me 15 minutes to get back to it. If there was a bonfire in that tower I'd definitely continue as I really appreciate the difficulty and the need to get better but I'm sick of the sight of those goddamn skeletons, the fire bomb enemies and Undead Burg.

I really want a game like this where nothing is handed to you on a plate and you work and learn and get better but I'm finding the checkpointing really frustrating.

What really bums me out is that this is the most interesting game this 'fall period'.
The Taurus Demon is easy when you know how. If you go back through this thread there are methods on how to kill it from a bunch of us, the main trick is to spam your falling attack

Sweet! Thanks mate. I have a dozen broken shields and loads of dupe weapons and crap and also a pile of rubbish to get rid of. Do the vagrants manifest in the same place as you drop the stuff. Just wondering if I can improve my chances of getting a sneaky kill in on someone

          Yup.

If you really want to be a pain, drop an item in the

          tower just after the gargoyles

          for maximum trolling.

I would imagine they appear where you have dropped them yeah. I think both what the item is and the ammount of items you drop in one place contribute to how strong the enemy is as well as how long they have been laying around for before they appear to someone.

There was someone early in this thread talking about how there was some really tough killer jellyfish monster at the top of the tower where the Tuarus Demon is, I imagine that was a vagrant?

Yep. I fought one of those in lower Undead Burg and it gave me Twin Humanities for killing it.

I think that is a Vagrant.

^ I drop my junk all over but I haven't seen any humanity accruing to me. Clearly my vagrants must try harder!

@chopemon -DON'T STOP! Seriously. I was just like this with Demon's souls. IMO this game *needs* you to get help from other people, both in-game and on forums like this. And once you are past Taurus it really lets up for a while IMO. Don't fight your way to Taurus,

just run there dodging everything along the way. If you have the house door opened on the way (just to the right of the tower with the archer on top) then run through there, leg it up the stairs and as soon as you go through the mist you're safe. Takes about 1 minute.

Oh you don't actually get anything from it, I don't think.

You just get the added benefit of knowing you've trolled someone AFAIK.

The longer that vagrant stays there without getting killed, I think the tougher it gets and the more worthwhile the reward is

You do get things, Well I do anyway.

I droped a massive pile of stuff and then about 10 minutes latter I started recieving loads of humanity.

Unless there is some other reason why that happened and it was a massive conincidence.

Hmmmmmm. Definitely worth looking into if that's the case.

The only information I know on it is:

"Dropped equipment has the chance to become a Vagrant, an NPC Black Phantom spawning from that item, which invades another players worlds.

The longer the item lays on the ground the stronger the Vagrant will become, if people leave them alone without picking them up and the more valuable the dropped item will be afterwards."

People on GameFAQs look like they're trying to plan a V Day, where everyone all drops a huge amount of items in the same location at once.

That makes no sense. You can't 'pick up' a black phantom. I be confused.

I think it means you picking it up as opposed to them.

Basically, you drop the item, it becomes an NPC black phantom in another player's world where you placed it. The longer it stays there without being killed in the invading world, or picked up by you, then the stronger this vagrant becomes.

I really, really really really want to vent my entire inventory in the

                            Ornstein and Smough

boss room just so I know there's someone out there raging even more than I am.

Edit: Apparently if you die with humanity stock and don't recover your bloodstain, that also turns into a powerful vagrant.

That would explain the twin humanities that I picked up from the one I fought. I can't imagine anyone dropping one of those.

My character still looks like a vagrant.

Might go griefing tonight to get some humanity. Those rats below Drake have only dropped one in about 30 kills.

Its worth noting that the rats drop more humanity if you actualy have some humanity points at the time you kill them as it increases your drop rate.

Anyway I'm going to go and try and drop a shed load of stuff in Blighttown now just to make sure it gives me some again and it wasnt just a coincidence, though is there any other way that humanity can just appear in your inventry for seemingly no reason?

Speaking of Blighttown I'm getting really annoyed with it. one of those bloody Toxin shooting guys gets me everytime and hes so far away I cant even see him to get him back.
