Yeah I did, just a shame I went there all for nothing and then had to go back again, and knowing I'll have to go through all that again later . I guess there's no more putting it off then, back to

Anor Londo to try and kill the Fat guy and the Spear guy

    .

I actually killed Orstien and Smough today, finally.

I actualy did it quite easy in the end becuase of one simple thing, I changed my weapon. I suggest that anyone having trouble use a spear, the distance a weapon like that gives you in that fight is a great help.

If you have no spear, I suggest killing the winged spear carrying creatures in Anor Londo, They drop a Demon's Spear and its a fantastic weapon, especially when upgraded.

Ok chaps, not having much time to play this so I need advice for what to do on tonight's session. Here's my status:

First bell rung, Elite armour, Astora sword (not upgraded), Dark sword, Spear, Hollow Shield is +4 but I have others e.g. Dragon shield. No miracles or magic. Longbow and crossbow but currently no ammo ( I can get normal ammo easy and also fire and poison arrows if needed). I'm pretty good at actually playing the game in terms of dodging, parrying and backstabs so don't mind a challenge form that point of view. Have only beaten:
        What should I do next?

The natural paths would be a) Darkroot Basin or b) The Depths. Both bosses aren't too bad by any means.

And I walked out the final boss' room wearing the blackest armor I had.
Finally completed the game, which took about 68 hours and 85 levels, with the last 5 set to Faith to use a special bow; other than that it was all about Strenght and Endurance, with Vitality a bit of Dexterity thrown in when needed.

            The smart way to kill

Gwyn, Lord of cinder, is to get a shield that can parry, the Hornet Ring and constantly parry his sword swings, rolling away from his "I'm good suck a level from you but not really" move.
I did the other way: covering behind the most stable and fireproof shield I could wield and slowly chipping away at his health when possible, with the help of the Fire Stoneplate Ring to further absorb fire damage.

Before confronting the last boss I went around the world and killed every NPC and got around 20 humanities only for that; not many souls (most dropped only 1k), but the Firekeepers drop their souls to upgrade the Estus Flask and the blacksmiths personal hammers.

            "Killing" Gwynevere in Anor Londo plunges the city in the dark and make all enemies disappear;

I wouldn't know about the giant blacksmith because I killed him before.

The ending is disappointing, I liked both D'sS more than the one I chose.

Everything in NG+ scales nicely, a run from the Asylum to Andre (including the Titanite Demon nearby) gave enough souls for a level up (level 87, enough souls from the last battle for two of them from level 85), kindled bonfires remain as they are and even with a pretty strong armor it's like wearing the initial Knight set, so I suspect the later parts in NG+ will be more challenging than they were the first time around. Unfortunately collectible souls on corpses do not scale.

They drop a Demon's Spear and its a fantastic weapon, especially when upgraded.
If you killed Ornstein last you can forge a pretty wicked spear from his soul, base stats are worse than the Demon's Spear but has better stat scaling and also adds Faith to its damage.

That someone has beaten a certain boss.

Took down hydra. Cheesed it with arrows as I had nothing that provided any defence against its water attacks. That netted me enough souls on the way back to open the 20000 door in darkroot garden. Joined the cat club and got summoned several times but they I accidentally twatted an npc and now they all attack me in there! On the plus side each kill is worth 2000 or 3000 souls. So I've been grinding my strength and can now wield my black knight greater sword. Omfg! The r2 attack is amazing. It

actually lifts the enemy into the air! Also the attack looks like it can't be stopped. I had an enemy hit me mid animation, I took some damage but my strong attack was not interrupted. Need to double check tomorrow

I think that last property has to do with your poise stat, maybe the sword raises that?

All attacks can be stopped mid-animation, even bosses'. What the enemy (or you) needs to do is pass the poise value; once an attack passes (either a single, incredibly strong attack or multiple, lighter attacks) this value the character staggers and attack animations are interrupted.
Armour increases poise, as well as one ring.

The Master Key gift. Can this item be found elsewhere if I chose a different gift?
