You can get a couple of things done in New Londo but

you'll have to return there anyway if you haven't beaten Silf. Besides Ghosts drop transient curses relatively often and if you're lucky they also drop a cursed dagger that cna attack them even without being cursed.

I'd say the first thing to do when cursed

is to get to the Undead Church and buy purging stones from the pardoner.

Silf: just run toward him and stay between his legs. Hit his legs enough times and he'll start to limp, making the battle easier.

Stray Demon: curse or not, it'll kill you with its explosion attack. When you drop, run straight to it and place yourself behind, slightly away from the Demon or the explosion will get you. Always try to stay behind and it will only use its explosion or buttstomp attacks, both are easily avoidable.

    Stone Armor:

the weight of equipped items is more than you can withstand. You can boost Endurance for higher equipment load or

    equip Havel's Ring.

hoolak, The path to her unlocks after you go through

      Lower Undead Berg (basement key)

      .

FSW, yes but going down there with half health isn't the best thing you could. Later on you can also use a cursed weapon to hit them.

With cursed weapons watch out, as

your shield won't block their attacks, and the damage they do isn't as good as magic. I found the transient curses are the best way.

Apologies Kaido. Out of interest what should be spoilered here? I've retrofitted spoiler tags and gone a bit mad but I'm curiosu as to what people thing should be spoilered? The names of places? names of demons? names of all items? Things that can happen to you?

On my way under Undead Berg to search for lady vendor, doing well, I traversed a foggy door thinking it may be a bonfire. I should

have listened to the little voice in my head saying "it's probably a boss"

            .

I'm playing as a pyromancer and accidently hit the 2nd pyromancer trainer a few times as wasps and 1 of those fire breathing spiders were attacking me and I'm swinging a halberd. She was barely noticeable lying there and looked like a dead body.

Apparently I now need to attone for my sins (which costs tons of souls ) in order to be able to speak to her. It's poor design decision to locate her in that area where your likely to be attacked and there's little space. I'm glad at least that theres a way out of this and that I don't have to start all the way from the beginning again but this game has too much needless frustration. That's why I'm looking at guides to forewarn myself and not worrying about too much about spoilers.

If I had killed her my character build would've been ruined and I'd probably have quit playing this game completely.

Atonig for sins is done when you break your covenant's rules (like attacking a friendly NPC belonging to that convenant) and that pyro trainer (

the female in black robes near the boss nest, right?

) does not belong to any covenant. Probably it's a misguiding line: NPCs no longer help you after being hit with a weapon once and turn hostile with the second hit.

Yeah that's the one. I really hope that's not the case otherwise I'm not sure I can stomach starting all over again especially with the potential of running into another game breaker out there. I really hate some of the design decisions they've made in this game.

Thanks buddy, that way I can start despoilering as soon as I get a hint of where you're at and then stop if you're way ahead of me... which you sort of are (so it's boss descriptions for me mostly, no big deal)

nope, doesn't work, left-right movements of the right stick do occasionally work but it seems pretty random to me. guess the target switching is just broken or bugged. so i have to go on with releasing and locking again on the nearest enemy - pretty annoying!

i wonder why most gamers don't even seem to notice this. found a thread on the wiki site though: https://darksoulswiki.wikispaces.com.../home/43698924

I occasionally struggled with the lock-on until I figured out you flick the right stick according to where an enemy is in relation to the center of the screen. Distance seems to be a factor to, so say you were at the bottom of some stairs you'd flick the right stick upwards for a fella stood at the top, or downwards if there's a guy closer to you at the bottom, and right if he's to the right.

Can't explain it better than that but it sure helped me...though lock-on does very occasionally let me down still.

seems reasonable and would explain that target switching seemed so random to me. will check it out later and report back. thanks mate!

Fighting the Wolf is beyond unplayable...slows to about 3fps and everything you do happens about 5 secs after you pressed the button.
I am so vastly overpowered now I can waltz wherever I want pretty much without breaking a sweat except on the boss fights, why does the game grind to a halt? The graphics are not even very good! Read about it being the 'AI Paths' slowing it down...can an Xbox not handle "BIG WOLF SWING BIG OVERPOWERED SWORD" without melting?

Playing this alongside Batman is a comparison of my real life. Batman is my mates and Dark Souls is my Dad.
Batman is great fun with minor annoyances and I love it. Dark Souls I also love but it drives me to the point of frantic violence such that I forget why I choose to spend time with it in the first place!

I don't remember much slowdown at the wolf, or at least not gamebreaking anyway. Plus its the easiest boss in the game so its over in a few minutes anyway.
