If I remember rightly it's for a dowloadable "digital game guide"

Probably should've downloaded it myself as I found it a right struggle getting to grips with it!!

It's more like a teaser of the future press guide. Not very helpful.

Oh thats good. The seller didn't know if the code has been used or not, not a bad thing if it has.

Received it yesterday and checked the code. Wasn't even used so that's a nice extra bonus even though all the content is completely pointless. Not going to touch it until I've finished with Skyrim. Can only handle games of that size one at a time. Like to give them my full attention wherever possible.

I think Humanity on sale is always limited. It hasn't been mentioned anywhere I've seen but I've found the best place to farm humanity by far is in the Duke's Archives.

The Squid Head enemies in the prison in front of where Big Hat Logan is trapped

. I'm using an item for increased drop rate but have 00 humanity on my counter and am still getting a fair few drops. Sometimes I'll get 2 or 3 in one run. Much better than farming the rats.

Alot of items that you can purchase are limited.

I think the old undead woman only has one humanity, thats all I managed to buy off her anyway.

To be honest you really dont need to farm. Just dont waste any, use it when you really need too (which means whn youre really stuck) and you should have plenty....

....Unless of course you do what i did and use it all to give you extra health while fighting a boss. I used about 6 and felt a tiny bit stupid afterwards to say the least, especially considering I hadnt even kindled the bonfire on the way to the boss .

You need quite a lot of humanity for kindling especially after raising the kindling limit, there's the Chaos covenant which requires huge amounts, it raises your item discovery rate and is also needed for summoning.

There's a lot of different uses for humanity but it's difficult to come by which is why I was so glad to find this area in the Duke's archives.

I'm having great difficulty with Great Grey Wolf Sif. I've fought him about 60 times now.

I had been saving one single Humanity and figured I needed the help, so I summoned a phantom, and he just stood there and watch me die.
                  Kept you waiting, huh?

How you developed your character? Silf is pretty easy for a melee build, or someone with a stable (great)shield and horizontal swinging weapons. A stamina regeneration tool (Mask of the Child, Cloranthy Ring) is a plus.
What you need to do is to charge toward him, shield raised, and once you're between his legs start hitting him. Long weapons with an horizontal swing will most likely hit Silf's legs and after enough hits he'll start to limp and won't be able to use few of his attacks.

I started as a Thief. I have everything at level 22 currently. My gear is the Gold-Hemmed set. My weapons are:

                      Raw Uchigatana +5/Chaos Blade +4/Lightning Spear +2

Darkmoon Bow +3/Black Bow of Pharis +10

                      Demon's Catalyst/Talisman/Pyromancy Flame +6

Crest Shield/Dragon Crest Shield/Devine Grass Crest Shield +5/Crystal Ring Shield +1

So far I've only been using Sorcery.

I actually managed to beat Sif by pure fluke as I ended up stuck on the cliff near the entrance, and he couldn't hit me. I just arrowed him to death in about a minute

Can you get a best weapon trophy for upgrading a shield? My Devine Grass Crest Shield +5 has not awarded me anything.

Use pyromancy! He is so weak against fire!

I dont think its a good idea to level everything equally.

I like balanced characters as much as everyone but they dont work well in the Souls games.

Melee based charaters are basically what you need to make the game easier, or if you want a challenge go for a magic type build (although Pyro does seem handy for a couple of bosses).

I would never consider it worth while to try and balance your character out completely (not on the first playthrough anyway). All it will lead too is lot of needless grinding.

And yes the weapons trophies and achievments can be obtained by upgrading shields, they are classed as weapons.

Devine Weapons go up to +10 though, which is why you dont have the trophy.

I'm following the same route with levelling that I took with Demon's Souls. I'm not bothered about grinding, as it helps hugely with NG+. I prefer a melee/ranged chara personally. I make great use of bows as well as katana. Homing Soulmass is about the only spell I'm interested in.

I would have focused on two or three stats instead of balancing everything. For my first playthrough I haven't touched RES and even at level 511 it still sits at 20 points.
Upgrading shields won't get you a trophy, unless it can be brought to +15 (standard weapon trophy - I think); IIRC weapons upgraded with Twinkling and Demon Titanites don't reward with any trophy.

And for sorceries you should aim for

                              Homing Crystal Soulmass

                              .

That's not true. For example got achievement/trophy for upgrading the crystal shield to +5. Shields are classed as weapons, you can get all the weapons trophies by upgrading them. He just doesn't have the devine trophy because Devine weapons go up to 10 not 5.
