What class did you start off with?

How is he attacking you - Magic or physical?

I don't know what he can do, I've not yet faced his wrath. If your dexterity is high enough then block one of his attacks, go around to his back and try backstabbing him and see what that does.

How much damage do his attacks do if you block with your starting shield?

It would be so much easier to restart. You're looking at about 10-15 minutes to get there I think.

Loving the open world but it does have it's pros and cons, town is a bit of a maze as well to get around but I seem to be finding all the hidden items. Not keen on the jump move as the physicals for it aren't great still it's helped me find a few interesting items.

Tookly hooked as well this is really good stuff, I've not repeated by Demon's Souls error ? so have picked up a toolkit to repair my equipment so it won't break early on ?

By the way did anyone managed to unlock the locked door in the top floor of the asylam I tried using a thief but the master key doesn't work on it, couldn't get the soul at the top of the broken stairs either anyone find out how.

You can jump across some small gaps by holding in circle/B to run, then tapping it again in mid-run. Like everything else it's done in a very real-world way so you have to get a bit of a run up.

Xbox 360 is why for me. I don't own a PS3 so couldn't play Demon's Souls.

Thanks Silvergun re. running. Thank feck for these forums. For all their brilliance, From Software don't half like to leave their players in the dark about even the most basic things.

Joe, I think lots of people on this forum completed Demons Souls. Many several times over.

so is it much harder then demon souls....only reason i found demon souls hard is it told you nothing ..which i hear dark souls is the same

completed demon souls on the first playthrough without to much trouble

From 5 hours - no harder. Same lack of information. Easier in some ways e.g. weapon degradation seems to be very slow. Harder in others e.g. basic enemies seem to have a larger repertoire of attacks and defense.
Overall if you love Demon's Souls you're gonna love this. The same but different.

Does anyone know if there's another NPC who teaches miracles later in the game,as I had to kill the one at the beginning after knocking R2 after speaking to him?Something I never managed to do in Demons Souls and I think was a consequence of my initial disappointment at the start.

there's one who appears in the tower after you

. He doesn't have the same miracles but he does let you repent after killing somone. Though what that means exactly I'm not sure as I havent killed a person yet.
