First 2-3 hours I felt like that ^^^^. But then I was hooked once more.

Oh, anyone here not get hit by the

massive ball that gets rolled down the stairs leading up to Taurus

!? I almost managed to get out the way but it clipped me.

Oh, also, such fun kicking dudes off ledges! I shout F off at the telly when I do it.

Only now I know it's there! First time I got slapped hard by it.

Someone even write down 'Be Wary Of Trap' beforehand and I still hit it. Went back and plus rated the note though.

On that subject I have actually found a ton of really useful notes and minimal trolling. They've guided me to a couple of treasure chests and it's thanks to them that i found the undead burg merchant first time.

That's another question: where is the message-posting option? Can't find it.

You need to use a particular soapstone to leave/rate messages. You can buy them from the first merchant in the undead burg.

I found the first merchant by accidentally rolling into the boxes while practicing parrying the two helmets dudes

Ta, I'm off to the Burg then. I guess you still get health boosts when someone 'likes' your comments? Another thing I admire, btw: the way poison (and other status-altering) attacks generate a bar to let you know how far you are from being properly poisoned. Useful visual tip to get you to back off, and does away with the frustration of receiving one-hit status-altering blows. Very clever idea.

Yup. What fuse said. Three soapstones in the game as far as I know.

Yellow soapstone very early on from the first merchant for rating and posting messages, White soapstone from

The bloke just before the dragon screws you over on the bridge

for putting your summoning sign on the ground for humans to bring in to their world, and the red soapstone from somewhere i don't know yet, that replaced cracked eye orbs and let's you start invading other worlds.

Where's the bonfire? I advanced in Undead Burg

and went past the red dragon, arrived at the church (?), defeated the Tanite Knight and got the Firekeeper Soul, met the second blacksmith (Andrei) and run past some sort of broken statue that kills me even before I swing my sword.
Past it there's a forest with vampire trees,

but then I decided to backtrack a little bit

and go to lower Undead Burg with a key found in Undead Parish. Still have to locate the door though.
If you go into the bit with the

                  Tree monsters

there are two ways to go, one takes you to

a door with a big shiny circle on it, if you bash the wall thats next to it there is a hidden bonfire there

, you can also go the other way and this takes you to

a cliff edge with a winding path down, theres one of those giant golden knights knocking about and around where he stands is a tunnel, inside that tunnel is another bonfire

                  .

I love the fact that this game is so open, its less linear than any other game I have played that has the same type of structure. Its actualy less linear than Demon's Souls when you get further into it. There are so many routes through the game. I'd recomend anyone starting this to take the master key as their gift, it helps you open up a few shortcuts early and helps you get around the world easier.

How do you get the master key if you didn't choose it as your gift?

                    Comment

I think you can only get it either as a thief or by choosing it as a gift.

Doors that the master key opens are doors you can open with a different key in game anyway.

The theif starts with it, I dont know if there is any other way to get it, If you dont have it then you probabaly just have to open doors as you find the keys for them. I know there are some houses in the Undead Burg that the master key opens, but you can buy a key for them from the merchant who is there.

There is a door that is locked in the tower on the way to the Taurus Demon that leads to a short cut into the woods where the

Ice Golem things and hydra thing

                        lives which is very handy.

Ahh ok, probably just buy them as I go along. Gonna look up in the wiki what I get from the stupid gift I chose.

Just started the game and need serious help.

I got carried off by a massive crow and it dropped me off in a green looking world with a knight sitting near the fire. I spoke to him and he seemed friendly enough, but I thought it would be funny to attack him. Then he got pissed and constantly attacks me and kills me non stop. I've restarted a dozen times but as soon as I respawn he's on to me like a rabid dog. I've tried fighting back but he's too powerful.

                            Please someone help!

Game restart mate. You're in a very early state though so it shouldn't take very long to get back to where you are

Once you've attacked someone and turned them hostile to you, the only thing you can do is kill them.

Super tip - Never attack NPCs, chances are you will be needing them at some point.

lmao @ supergoal. See, this is the sort of thing you could try in Oblivion, or Mass Effect, or Dragon age but here EVERYTHING has a permanent consequence. As Silvergun says, you either kill him now or you restart.
