killed Lautrec when I was supposed to. I used that cracked eye orb in Anor Londo and fought him and 2 other guys, I then took the soul back to where the firekeeper he killed was and she was brought back to life.
The Estus Flask status carries through NGs (like kindled bonfires) and all Firekeeper Souls are reset.
With regards to stats, I have 30 vitality, 30 str, 31 end, 21 dex, 12 res, 16 attunement, 15 int 16 faith.
I could be wrong but I'm sure I read in a wiki you can only get the 7th soul during a ng+. I don't know the details of it, but that was what I remember reading.

I got this a few weeks back, and I'm loving it. Best single player game I've seen in, well, years imo. It's tough but not as masochistic as I expected.
Around 30 hours in, and still have no idea really what I'm doing, only worked out the other night the concept of Humanity and kindling - I'd not done any before as I thought you had to max humanity and use it all to kindle a bonfire, so I'd just left it. It's easier now, lol.
Not sure where exactly I am in the game as I think I'm doing half of it back to front. Only rang the second bell last night, having explored other, what I assume are higher level areas. Lost count of the souls I've dropped and never managed to recover
Now having loads of trouble getting passed the long necked reptile creatures, through the large gate that's opened after the second bell is rang. No idea how far through the game I am, hoping it just keeps going and going. Love it.

It's difficult to gauge how far in you are as there are a number of semi-secret areas you can access and complete early on (some of which you may have done) but don't need to until much later in the game. But it sounds like you're between a quarter and a third of the way through. Sens Fort (where you currently are) is one of the hardest sections of the game but also one of the most rewarding. The bonfire towards the end of the fort is pretty well hidden but be sure to find it before tackling the boss as he's a bit of a bugger to beat and, otherwise, will put you all the way back to the dwarven blacksmith.

Thanks for the advice. I need to work on it. I'm sure I'm not fighting enemies correctly. Pretty early in the game I was running through a graveyard by the Firelink Temple being chased by skeletons I couldn't kill at the time, and grabbed a Halberd. It's been my main weapon ever since, using it at range. As a result I can't time the counts, stab in the back, that kind of thing. I just sit back and whallop the enemies, lol
I'll be sure to avoid any white light in the current area until I've found a bonfire.

I don't think I ever found a bonfire in there... (at least I can't remember it if I did).
Finally finished this last night, and killed the first 4 bosses in a row in about 3 hits each. Didn't get hit at all off the asylum demon, which I was quite happy with! It's unreal how much quicker you can go through this specced up though, I think i've played about an hour/hour and a half ish, and I'm upto the gaping dragon.
Finally maxed out my pyromancy flame too (well until I get to queleena or h/e you spell it)!! Accidentally killed one of them, other never showed up and one hollowed last game so I never got to get it past +2.
I imagine it ramps up somewhat after these bosses? Definitely not looking forward to the one back at
undead asylum
hated that one. Probably the hardest boss in the game for me. Either that or
Ornstein and smough.
Apparently they're not too bad with maxed out pyromancy though?

The Demon lurking in the Asylum's basement is easy once you learn Fall Control as he won't be able to one-shot you when you fall. Other than that, you just need to constantly circle around it to always be behind.
IIRC Smough is resistant to fire, if you have Crystal Soul Spear you can target Ornstein and move around the hall a bit trying to get both aligned: cast Soul Spear and see the spell hit Ornstein and Smough with one use.

My Halberd has been upgraded to Raw (whatever that means, think it happened after +5 or something).
Actually, what's the deal with the coloured materials you pick up? I've given the only Ember I picked up to the blacksmith outside Sen's, upgraded my Halberd but only had the option to make it Raw. I was expecting Fire Weapons and other such things.
