So if you want to use miracles, concentrate on levelling up faith and that halberd will benefit from the stats bonus (the letter by the stat icons on the weapon stats). Levelling up and spreading your stats more equally is really not the thing to do in the Souls series, as you end up with a far weaker character.
Levelling up VIT and END is almost always a must, then pick one of the others DEX/STR/Faith/INT and base your choice of weapons, equipment and spells around that stat, so your weapon choices scale the best with that particular stat.

Downloaded the DLC yesterday (pal 360). Already died about 30 times. I'm on NG+, so everything seems to have scaled dramatically at this point (the beginning on New Game was easy, leading me into a false sense of security), but if the opening of the DLC is any indication, this will be as hard, if not harder than anything in the main game. Thank you From Software!

Well my Dark Soul PTDE on PS3 arrived this morning from Shopto so I'm looking foward to getting back into DS that said the save files don't appear to be cross version.
That said the save for this one said EU and not UK as the original DS so makes me wonder what version Shopto sent me. Still be interesting to start over again with the new patch and all the changes that have been made. Going to take me a little longer to access the DLC than expected unless I buy it from PSN as well.
The BLES number of my Dark Soul PTDE is 01765, if anyone else get a Dark Soul PTDE on PS3 let me know if you have the same save issue and if the BLES number is the same.Last edited by S3M; 25-10-2012, 12:46.

If a weapon requires any more than 14-16 to equip it's a good indication that it's meant for that particular stat character build - i.e. a high STR requirement means it's for a high strength character and if you want to level up faith instead pick something else (weapons can be two-handed though which cuts down their stat requirements).
So many weapons in the game, there's something for every playstyle and need.

Same BLES, same result. I'm hoping it's an isolated case, in that shopto got EU versions, as I'm going to check at brick & mortar stores over the weekend to see if they have different versions.

Save appears to work if you have a German version of the original game, as your save file is marked as EU. Some people have suggested this is to do with the 1.06 patch on the original version as well as that caused the saved naming to change.
For Dark Souls on the PlayStation 3, a GameFAQs message board topic titled "Will the console Prepare To Die Edition read original game save?".
It could well be that all UK players are screwed, I'm hoping it's just Shopto sending out EU PAL version.

I have completed the DLC and because I'm recording all cutscenes, I completed the current run to start another...have they dumbed down bosses? The biggest surprise was
Gwin: in the previous playthroughs his attacks were relentless, he barely gave you an opening to exploit and was lethal at all ranges, a true final boss. Post-patch Gwin is a joke, I constantly circled around him while he was almost completely helpless and I was even able to stagger him with a just magic. Queelag was the same, she kept spitting lava away from where I was and swung her sword randomly. Ornstein & Smough were a bit challenging, but mostly because they are two bosses: I recall Ornstein zipping around the battlefield, today's battle was a standstill compared to other times. Second part was even more boring...
maybe it's because I'm used to their patterns and my character is quite powerful, but bosses were never that easy.
