Holy crap, I've only discovered today, just right now, that there are NO single player unlockables. In UC2 I replayed it to buy new unlock weapons and cool cheats, which made trophy hunting a fun endeavour. But now there's nothing for UC3?

What the hell is the point of ever replaying it then? It would be identical to the first time you played it. I don't go in for different difficulty levels, I play on normal and if I replay it I want some extra goodies.

I'm still waiting for my order to arrive, but this alone means it can never hope to be better, or even as good, as UC2. What a crushing disappointment.

UC2 allowed you to enjoy the world in a more relaxed way, just tinkering, like it's a sandbox game.

True, I was hoping to unlock some behind the scenes footage like in UC2 but alas none. I need to get back to this now that my gaming plate is clearer and finish my crushing playthrough. I'd say they're good for two playthroughs at least from a gameplay perspective as the first playthrough doesn't let everything sink in as I'm too busy going

Well I wouldn't worry, that's not the only reason it's not as good as uncharted 2, it's just nowhere near as good a game either, it's doubtfull you will want to replay it for a while anyway really.

Just finished this, excellent game. There's a part torwards the end where you see these big red rocks, reminded me alot of Red Dead except it was 5x better looking. Naughty Dog seriously know what they are doing. Think I gave UC3 a 9, so I'll give this an 8. Was a big kick to the balls when they released this with dodgy aiming, but luckily they fixed it and my faith in ND is restored. Shame there are no cheats, singeplayer skins and all that though.

I finished this the other night. It's an Okay game but thats as far as I go. UC2 is possibly my "best game ever" but this is just too automated. The comments about not feeling completely in control are dead right.

The hallucination bits just annoyed me, big time. Hated those.

And agreed on the horse bit, though to expect a full world like Red Dead to look like that is probably not very realistic this gen!

Currently playing through this on hard and so far its very good. Graphically it's amazing but then again it should be as the areas you can actually explore are very limited (as with previous games). Just about to walk through the town with sully and the ex girlfriend and very much looking forward to what else the story has to offer.

I noticed this stupid decision the 1st and 2nd had loads of unlockables. Not liking the online pass rubbish either ala EA. Besides that it`s sublime and looks unreal. I have only just started but so far no bits that annoyed me like the 2nd game. Should be interesting to see what it throws at me, I know their is one bit I hear is a nightmare.

Near the end now and this game has turned out to be bit of a letdown after the brilliant start . The graphics are unmatched on the consoles , the script and cast of characters as good as ever, but in almost every way bar the GFX and story, this not a patch on Part II and you where like GOD, Zelda I feel I done it and see in all before and where it was done better in previous games in the series

Still a great game, but we were spoilt with Drakes II

I think the lack of design progression is due to the crunch approach Naughty Dog took with UC3. It's amazing to think that they put it together in a little over 18 months. That said, Last of Us and a future Uncharted 4 won't bemade under the same conditions so should be pretty special.

Spot on and I always look forward to a new Drakes ,. Its just for me the game world wasn't as interesting to take part in as those featured in Part II. Its getting a bit like Tomb Raider where while each game in its own right is brilliant (for the 1st few) it just feels more of the same and not as quite as good as Part II , if you get me .

That is not to say its not a good game or not a must buy

Im not sure that's true, with Uncharted 3 naughty Dog Basically just cashed in on what made Uncharted 2 popular, which was the set pieces. There are a lot more of them here, and it does have some memorable and cool ones (well, about 3) but the majority of them just had random things collapsing and Nathan Drake swinging on them in the same fashion every single time, it got to the point where a more fitting subtitle of the game would have been "Drake's d?j? vu". They also ruined the climax of the game by including the weird random fire headed people, I am still not sure what they were about, not to mention they were frustratingly unfair to fight.

Depends, I guess, it's all matter of opinion. For me UC2 did show a huge improvement over 1 but with only 18 months or so to make 3 it wouldn't be likely you'd get much variation on the template as it's just not enough time to make big changes and perfect their implementation. For the turn around it was a good job, other series like Gears have a much bigger dev time and less design progression despite it. I've no doubt UC4 will mix things up more.

The fire head people where just because Nathan was drugged up, Naught Dogs way of sidestepping the paranormal angle. Personally, they were a piece of p*** to beat

I don't see how the fire headed blokes (Who as CTN said was due Nathan hallucinating) are any worse than Uncharted 2's boss? I think all three games are brilliant personally, and having just bought 1&2 to play through again, i'm looking forward to playing them back to back immensely.

I dont know how you can think they were easy to beat when 4 of them would teleport behind you at once and shoot you ion the back, killing you in the space of about half a secoond, and that was on Normal difficulty. The only way to play the combat in uncharted 3 succsessfully is to wildly run in zig zag patterns from one end of the area to the other without ever stopping.

Actually though considering the rate at which you get through games I imagine you went through the whole thing like that, so maybe thats why you considered them easy! Regardless it is not what I personally consider good design.

And anyway, yeah Gears 3 may have had a much longer dev time, but it was a much better game for me than Uncharted 3 is, so I see no problems with that.

I had no issues with the flame headed guys on hard. Just made sure I had a shotty incase they teleported close by. Scoped magnum for the other buggers.
