You know what other games had Ghibli involvement? The Nausicaa games.

Hence the reason Ghibli was reluctant to lend a hand in any more games. Glad they gave in though when Level 5 asked them.

Their reluctance is speculation on the part of the western press. Part of the motivation for the above article was I could find no reliable, direct sources for either Ghibli's reluctance/view on the games, or even the games themselves. Most descriptions of them said you shoot Ohmu, when in fact none of them feature that. Actually, the three games, in a perverse and weird way, are quite faithful to the movie. Sort of. If you've got a source/interview with Ghibli, which undeniably confirms their reasons, that would be quite useful.

Really enjoying this. Just fought second boss and actually lolled when drippy made the comment about him getting in another

Accidentally discovered l2 and r2. Makes things a bit easier. My familiars are rubbish so I've stopped using them.

How are your familiars rubbish? You need them to standard attack, if you use Oliver you need to use magic attacks to do damage and you will use too much mp that way.

Also are you taking into account the Rock Paper Scissors type mechanic, where certain familiars are better against certain enemies?

Well it's not so much that they're rubbish just that there's no need to use them really. I never run out of magic because it drops regularly enough. I did just use them to fight the

                      nightmare in Oliver's world

but just to have a play around really. I didn't need to. I am taking the rock paper scissors into account yes. I want to use them more because I reckon I'm asking for trouble later on if I don't learn how to use them properly!

fight you talked about was fairly tough I thought, and I regularly run out of MP even using the familiars! I'm at the third town now just got the

I was kind of reluctant to go back to it before, really didn't enjoy the desert section that much but this section I'm on now looks quite fun Really reminding me of DQVIII, which isn't surprising.

I'm on normal. If mp gets low I just run around and defend and mp drops.

This is gonna sound odd but it reminds me of Zelda.

About 6 hours into this and quite enjoying it. It's not very deep just yet, but the initial sheen (both in terms of visuals and audio) has made the opening quite pleasant. It has done a very good job of reminding me how much I miss traditional JRPGs.

I really like the battle system. Bit concerned about how it'll work when more party members are also in the fray. Looks and sounds amazing. This is likely to be the first jrpg I actually finish.
