if people are confused with which was is up, pressing down on the dpad puts the camera the right way round again.

Am I being too hard on this with its controls which lack any real responsiveness to me? I've just done the level 9 boss and it exposes all the weaknesses and shallowness of the combat. There clearly needs to be a lock on feature. The amount of times you miss your attack during the flying kick move is ridiculous and its not a fault of the player either. There was a review which said that Gravity Rush was at its best when not actually being a game with a progressive story but when it just lets you roam around the city, which is true imo. Yes it is extremely charming but I think most people are being too forgiving of the fact that the combat simply doesn't work and that's the integral component of the game.
Also, am I the only one who finds the Japanese fascination with self-stereotyping mildly irritating these days? It reminds me of that Yahtzee review of Yakuza where he talks about an equivalent game set in London with truncheon wielding police officers and red phone boxes.Last edited by Jimmyboi; 19-06-2012, 17:43.

I ended up picking this up and after charging up the Vita I've started picking my way through this. Still early on so I can imagine the missions get much more complicated and involved later which should be good fun. It's a good looking game too and I'm loving the soundtrack. It's nice to be back on the Vita too, a quick reminder of how well made the system is. So far my niggles are I can imagine the combat will get old very fast, the screen swipe dodging is awful and it feels like the camera/aiming via the right analogue (I hate the gyro) is a little too slippery meaning you have to faff about getting aiming spot on. It's okay to manage so far but if there are bits later on that require quick reflexes it could get annoying. Interested to see where this goes none the less.
