Only girls bother with recon drones. I remember you saying that distinctly.

Furthermore, the last thing QChomp will bring to the party is sanity.

I'd probably bring confusion, frustration and defeat.

Loftgroover: "OK, Prinny if you could take out the drones on the left flank. Wait... who's the chump who's managed to glitch himself into a building? Ah..."

First season ended today at 12:00 server were down for quite a few hours on the 360, think there back up now.

Interested to see how many areas will still have after the restart, team fail for not saving one of them however. Guess I'd best give prinny a hand killing stuff.

I'm hoping they will sort out the player vs player battles as right now you spend ages waiting for them to start. Mind you we hammered the two guys from a level 8 team vs the 5 of us at level 158.

Decided to practise in single player to get used to the controls, and must admit I'm not impressed. Did one mission and thought my brain would explode - it's nowhere near as fluid as AC4 or AC:FA.

First of all: the single player missions all seem geared towards multiplayer, seeing as you're allowed several team members. I don't like this, since it forces me to play online and basically makes this an online only game, doesn't it? Am I understanding this correctly? The single player missions are all designed around you going online and getting someone else to play alongside you? Or can I get AI partners to help, like I could in AC:FA?

For me multiplayer is usually just a nice extra - is it really the focus for this instalment of AC? For those who've gone through single player, how playable is it if you're entirely solo?

EDIT: some guy on GameFAQs says this game is 90% multiplayer? HOLY CRAP. I really should have actually read some reviews before impulse buying. Is this true?

Second of all, how do I manually load and save my data? In the previous two AC games I liked to reload if I didn't S-rank a mission first time. Is this one of those auto-save things like Demon's Souls?

Third, the equipping of weapons is painfully obtuse compared to previously. Eventually I worked out that R2 shows all the weapons, rather than grouping them by type, which is awful. I don't like the fact I can't equip bay weapons until I've equipped arm weapons either. It was much quicker and easier in AC:FA.

All my weapons/gear are "junk" due to damage, how do you repair them? Or must I buy new ones?

Plus the controls are horrible. Which is fine, since I customised them. But now I'm watching the tutorial and instead of coding the game to show you the new configuration, it's showing me the old one! Now I'm trying to translate: OK, Square really means R3, and R3 really means L2, etc etc etc etc.

An online game is no good to me, I'm selling this.

Friendly Import video game discussion forum, informative reviews, NTSC (Japan / US) and PAL - BordersDown (previously known as NTSC-uk)

You can do missions in single player, it's just very hard. It's like EDF - better with peeps. It's not really like other AC games. It's a waste of time expecting a lengthy SP campaign. As this iteration is built around MP, criticising its SP is a moot observation - like it was with CH.

The controls are easy on 360, I can't see why they've made them so bad on ps3.

The focus of weapons is buying what you need, balancing for different armour types, and upgrading through use. Junk is junk.

No more impulse buying, John. Read up on the game, then buy if the conditions are present to maximise enjoyment. i.e., you should have saddled up with a team! Our team. The Drunken Masters.

I know! I based my purchase purely on the fact that AC:FA was an excellent single player game.

I loved Chrome Hounds but having a hard time trying to get into this . It isn't helped with a inept manual and a totally confusing menu system . At the mo this isn't a patch on Chrome Hounds for me

That's because you're never on it when the lads are on, bell-hound.

Forget Chromehounds!! I don't think it's as good either, but you'll never get any enjoyment out of ACV if you restrict your impressions of the game to be based around what it isn't.

Armored Core V is ****. There, I said it. Someone had to.

Given that it cost me 60 Euro and I won't even recoup half that on reselling, I decided to keep it and put full effort into online. It's Easter Weekend, so I thought plenty of people would be online. I'm on the PS3 version.

I SPENT 60 MINUTES JUST NOW DOING SWEET F-A.

I joined three teams with several people online - nothing. Nothing happened. No one started any missions, just nothing happened.

So I created my own team and signed up as a merc. One person hired me, I spent 2 minutes shooting helicopters, we won, the end. After this I wasn't hired by anyone again.

I tried accessing the one on one combat missions, but it kept saying none of the rooms worked. So I never got to fight anyone.

So I decided to join the biggest team I can find. War Wolf seems good. They've got around 20 people online, have a high team rating and registration is free. So I sign up.

I then spend the last 20 minutes sitting idly while NOTHING HAPPENS. I tried using the chat system, but no one spoke, no one started missions, nothing happened. Why weren't we tearing **** up on the battlefield?! No one did anything at any time, on ANY of the teams I joined! It's like that time I went to watch an experimental film and nothing happened for two hours! >_<

How in bloody hell does one actually, you know, starting ****ing shooting things?!

So...you're basing your judgement on the game on empty online lobbies during an holiday when probably lots of people were away from their consoles?

Its not sh1t3 Sketz, its just as you say needs people and a clan to play with, the amount of people i know with the game on PS3 i can count on one hand, well if choco and a few of us want to get the PS3 wing going, then hit me up Sketz. I've hardly played either cause of this.
