Max Payne 3 review

Bloody hell thats looks like fun, I might just grab this on my 360 seeing as my PS3 is still on CFW3.55. Still wish I had a half decent pc to play it on, this surely needs wasd controls?

Definetly, i'm playing it with a keyboard and mouse. Can't imagine playing it with a pad, i'm just popping heads whereever i go.

Very late to the party with this. I've completed the previous 2 releases and have really enjoyed 3 so far.

Reached Act 2 and have been impressed with the general style and visceral impact it delivers throughout each shoot out set piece so far with a special mention to the gun sound effects which are immense.

Was interesting to see Rockstart made no changes to the painkiller health dynamic - makes a change to play a game without hide behind cover health regeneration.

Looking forward to the remainder of Max Payne 3 as the shootouts are a great stress reliever after work.

well I've been extremely late to the party, but man... What a party! I've just completed it on PC and well I was simply blown away. Fantastic story, fantastic set pieces, varied levels and some actual nuance to the gameplay itself. I rated it 9/10 as there were some issues with the cover mechanics especially after you've saved yourself from death or recovering from a shoot-dodge.

But blimey, that was classy. Can finally start RE6 now, but after Max Payne 3, I can't imagine how 3rd person shooters can be topped!

Lil fact for you when I rated games on here I only ever rated 1 for didn't like it or 10 loved it, I called it the thumbs up/thumbs down.
Middle ground only exists in written text and the opinion.

All I would say is, I've no idea how anyone could give this lower then 7 really. If were going to put it in 1/10 category surely that indicates the game is unfinished and unplayable. Max Payne is neither.... 1/10 is merely trolling on reaction, rather then thought.

By saying Max Payne is a 1 you are saying there is no possible way it could of been worse. Which is totally nonsense.

Agree with Boris. A score of "1" should be reserved to games that are almost unplayable, completely broken, buggy etc. with no redeeming qualities.

To be fair the game IS a bit broken and buggy. But it also has good qualities too, so a score of 1 doesn't make that much sense.

was close to finally ordering. but a friend warned me about the messed up bullet time. he didn't go into detail - so what did he mean exactly?

No idea mate, really have nothing but praise for it. It's superb!!

There's nothing wrong with the bullet time, it's as cool as ever (I never get tired of putting those extra bullets in slow-mo to the last enemy with the body jerking like a marionette and blood splattering everywhere) and works fine.
