Loving the normal melee and Sprint melee attacks, something that works very well with the game and adds to the fun factor.
With Lizards its best to lie down and shoot them until they start to shake, which is the moment you have to roll in order to dodge their projectile. Also in the mine cart, you can just lie down and it seems to insta dodge all those hazards.

Decided to play the characters alternatively chapter by chapter, just for varieties sake more than anything. Found somthing on the web that basically states you should more or less play a Leon chapter, the. A jake one, then a Chris one and then a Leon one and so on. Seems to make sense, though I don't understand why capcom did t just inckude an option to let you play chronlogically in the first place.

Well i just played through the first two chapters of leon's campaign and it started off slow and it was the demo chapter but i still enjoyed it, and once in the second chapter it was awesome, really enjoying the melee and splatting heads off against scenery never gets old. And all those websites who marked it low showed be ashamed especially that fat ham-shank Jim Sterling, destructoid should fire that tosser.

Yeah I dont get the low scores either. This game is really good. It's very cinematic, and also fun to play, ok maybe there's too much of an overload of context sensitive actions, and the gameplay is littered with little niggles like enemies jumping through windows that are bang next to you and taking out large chunks of your health, yet on the whole it's just incredibly enjoyable and a surprisingly fresh experience.

Also love the nods to the older games, such as the climax of chapter one of Leon's campaign which takes him

through a town burning town centre that resembles the opening of RE2

. The game is also packed with very impressive set peices, where you're chased by zombies from all angles and there's explosions and car crashes and helicopters flying into trains, the game delivers absolute chaos when needed...

          ..... Its fun stuff.

I guess many people who rated it just see it as something thats becoming far removed from the best games in the series...

If its a crowd pleasing(gears/cod generation), safe bet.... i for one understand why it would get marked down for that, this is supposed to be resi not some ten a penny gears knock off.

I guess it was to be expected really, i mean it was never going to be amazing. Devs making big budget games, just dont seem to dare risk straying too far from a proven winning formula these days. That formula might be fun....but its not original, and its not resi imo.

Maybe i'll be pleasantly surprised a bit farther into the game.

Playing this co-op with a mate, we've done 3 hours of Leon's campaign ATM. Not really understanding the hate. It's not amazing, but it's fun. I'm really enjoying it.

The only real annoyances I have is that the camera feels like it's too close, the aiming is a little loose/ not as good as it was in RE4/5 and they take too many headshots to kill.

Other than that, in no way a less than a 7/10 game.

I'd really recommend everyone plays this by alternating between the characters rather than one campaign at a time, it really adds to the game and makes it feel like such an epic experience.

I disagree that this doesn't feel like a Resident Evil game. Yes it's mostly an action game, but it still contains all the hallmarks of the series and plenty of variety. I don't see how fans of the series could not appreciate the nods to previous entries in the series. It's resident Evil updated and with many things people have been wanting for years. It's insane to complain when capcom have given people what they were asking for.

What do you want?, outdated graphics and tank controls?, as said before gaming and RE have moved on, and for the fans that haven't, time to dig out your gamecube or PS1. I'll be having fun while you just have a hard time controlling your character.

The controls aren't thing that's bothering me (other than being vulnerable for too long while you are locked into an animation, CONSTANTLY tripping over dead bodies and the imprecise aiming), it is the stifling linearity, constant explosions and incessant action that bother me.

The aiming can be stabilized with upgrades.

Yes the tripping animation is a pain!

It's nowhere near perfect. It's full of little annoyances like unavoidable deaths and sections that require way more ammo than you're actually given, but the sheer fun factor and spectacle of it outweighs its faults and makes it an enjoyable experience with lots of great moments.
