Think this is brilliant myself - Sure it's got its fair share of issues , but they really spoil the fun . Don't get the hate or people saying the game looks poor , I think it looks quite brilliant .

Just finished chapter 1 of Leon's campaign in co-op with my brother over PSN and it was epic.

Every headstomp, every axe decapitation, every incendiary grenade group blaze was greeted with either "urgh", "ooooh" or just roars of laughter!!

This is defo a game that needs to be played co-op to get the most out of it and I think a lot of reviews may have missed tha.

        Just pure class.

I just want a good game? This is a frightening mishmash of everything Capcom thinks all western gamers want, with the Resident Evil name hastily chucked into it for lols.

Its so terribly average infact that it serves to irritate me further. There are glimpses of greatness in there which are then completely ruined by another cheap death, shoddy partner AI routine, glitch or ridiculously ill thought out QTE sequence or vehicle section.

For every promising section like the one with Leon on a plane, theres a ridiculous swimming portion- who thought that was a good idea? Resident Evil has been infamous for being axed partway through the project- I just wish someone had the balls with this one to step up and say - you know, we liked the idea, but it doesn't work- let's not do this. Sadly they've thrown everything but the kitchen sink at it and hoped for the best. Don't get me started on the ridiculously tacked on "skill points" system they've implemented- it's like they threw an RPG element in there for a laugh.

I have no qualms in saying I adored the old Resident Evils, I still play them all regularly, and shall do for a long time to come. But on the flip side Resi 4 was, and still is, outstanding. I dont know why you seem to be fixated on tank controls, youre assuming you know what complainers are saying rather than understanding their point I think. I'm quite happy with a change in direction, but is it wrong that I expect the game to be high quality considering they series history of outputting that quality?

If people are enjoying the game for what it is- fantastic, good luck to them. You do seem to be getting agitated by people who don't share your view about this game though- I wonder why... Especially with sarcastic comments like the one above. Are the detractors not as entitled to voice their opinion? Should this thread be filled with only comments of love and adoration?

Also, for the record, I've never had difficulty controlling with tank controls in any game that has them

Am i the only one that feels like Chris is running in treacle when you are jogging rather than sprinting? The main characters seem to be animated a bit strangely in that respect

Aside from the slight motion sickness i keep getting from the above point the game has grown on me alot. It certainly doesn't deserve some of the stupid review scores it's been getting.

I do wish Capcom had condensed the game to 15hrs and cut out some of the crap though. The game could do with being made a bit better in places that's for sure, which is not something i thought i would say about a Capcom game before the last few years that is for sure.

Well im sorry you ain't enjoying it, and yes you've just as much right to slag it off if you wish, its a good game, not in RE4 awesomeness but good in it own right.

I like the game but I agree that they could've cut a lot of crap. All vehicle sections could be cut and you would still end up with a very big game.

Even if they would cut Jake and Chris altogether, and only kept Ada and Leon in tact (which I think would've reviewed better), then you'd still have something close to a 15 hour game. From the whole lot of Jake I only liked the Ustanak parts, that could be added into Leon's campaign for example. Chris has a good campaign though, also reasonably RE ish during later chapters.

A fun game. Theres pretty much no other description. Its not a patch on the series pre-RE5 but most of the time theres fun to be had. It holds hands far too much and some sections are poorly handled like the snow section in Jakes campaign but its well worth the play on its own merits

Still enjoying it here. It lets itself down by the overuse of the spectacular every 5 mins in certain parts, which just dilutes it. Where it falls flat in terms of presentation is that it is just so unbelievable. No matter how many windows they crash through, explosions they barely miss or vehicles they crash, never a scratch on them.

Exactly. I do honestly think co-op is the best way to go as i would imagine it's a game that is better played with a friend due to player reactions!

Played some more of this, finished Leon's campaign, and the first level of Chris'.

It's not a truly terrible game so far, there are alot of fundamental flaws, but there is at least some enjoyment to be had. A solid 5/10 up to now.

I'm not sure if I like some of the copied scenarios from other games just yet, it's obviously done for nostalgia- its a nice nod, but for me on a personal level- others will likely disagree- I don't want to be reminded this is the same series and canon!

Bits like the gun shop, the burning town, the fight in the cargo hold of the plane, the underwater shark thing resembling Resi 4's, Leon's final boss being similar to Salazar, some if Leon and Ada's interactions- quite a few things. There was however one I was really happy with... a remix of Ada's theme playing in a cutscene, very short and very subtle- but I like that one only because I love the music!

Chris' campaign seems to be a complete change of tempo, and the first level is far better than the demo of him campaign. It still dumbfounds me that theyve given zombies guns. Alot of people critised it in 5, so they decided to do more of it... It just doesn't work for me on a basic gameplay level, so I can't get behind it, but we will see how it goes.

I'm disappointed at the story so far or at least with the character crossover aspects. It's almost blink and you miss it, but again I'm only one campaign of four down so that may change!

As I mentioned earlier in the thread the story really works well if you play all the campaigns at once and rotate doing the first level of each, then the second, and so on. It really adds to the flow of the story and makes it feel epic. I imagine pkaying one campaign at a time would make the story feel a bit flat as its structured in a way that works in a way that switching between characters makes perfect sense.

In which case, they should have made it one long chronological campaign
