    I'm with nonny at least for the people thinking all CoD MP is the same, its like comparing Street Fighter games and saying is all just people punching each other, though im against you for saying this is the worst, MW2 holds that honor for me. I always start out hating the crap of each new game but then a warm to ways of what works, and what the counters are (though there is only so much you can do in the face of updated prediction code which is getting worse each game).

    As for the map selection i agree for the most part on space, the ranged battle areas exist in 2/3 hotspots on the maps but because they built the maps with every area having 2-4 entrances it makes them seem alot more close/middle in exchanges (promoting Hipfire) as everyone has the alot of choice to avoid them. But there is lot of verticality in every map, im not sure how your missing it. Although Hijack can go **** itself, i really dislike the nuketown style maps.

      I'm alright with Hijack, the side ramp is a good killbox and its amazing how few players use the tunnel way beneath the deck. I'm not so keen on the one set in a mansion style home but alright bar that. There's def tons of verticality and very little camping.

        Yep there are a few decent maps in this but no classics if you ask me. I think Plaza, Cargo, Hijacked etc... are truly awful maps but I've learnt their nuances & alternate routes to certain areas by vaulting on objects.

        Meltdown and Standoff would probably be the most classic formula or style maps for bigger, ranged play. I just find the rest pretty basic and claustrophobic because as mentioned it promotes close quarters and hip firing.

        As for verticality. There is some, but not a great deal. I'm talking Karachi, Favela, Kowloon or Quarry type maps where the sight lines are long and running from cover to cover is a risk because of a snipers. Most sniping channels in this seem to have only a 30 degree cone of view?

        Perhaps this game will improve with map packs and tweaks. For me, right now I can't justify that based on how it plays. I'll get shot of it post Xmas and wait for people's feedback on future DLC.

          I'm wondering how involved Treyarch will be with the games dlc maps, Beachhead did a good job with MW3's

            People still playing?

            I've mainly kept to team deathmatch, i just can't stomach sitting out a round anymore in other modes... and after trying to get back in to Kill/Confirm its just a total clustermuck now, good players have honed it down to just chain killstreak into killstreak feeding of the rubbish players.. i just feel i can't do anything about it. If at the bare minimum the **** players would equip blind eye but instead the usual is to join a midway match where 1 or 2 players one side(never both, once they got rolling they just hide in a corner raining death down) have a k/d of 40/0 which by the end might be 65/5 after i've tracked them across them map using ghost/cold/blind/engineer.

            Don't think the DLC worked as planned either, at best you see 6000-8000 players on it.

                I'm still plugging my way through on this, don't have as much time these days as I used to but it's perfect for short goes so managed to claw my way into second Prestige. I'm on the PS3 version so the DLC maps only arrive today, hopefully they'll be playlist intergrated quickly. For me it narrowly edges out BO1 and I prefer it to MW3 but I'm currently reinstalling the DLC for that entry to give it another try for varieties sake. There was a period of connection troubles on PS3 but that's been gone for a month or so now and I get very consistent results from my matches, I tend to still soley to TDM so haven't haf a chance to see how the player count fares on other modes. I know the maps well enough to lay useful traps etc so it's going okay at the mo'

                  Now come on, this just sounds like someone who doesn't play FPS games online. I wouldn't say there was a huge difference in the underlying gun mechanics but there are huge changes in how the killstreaks and unlocks work that make it much different from say MW3 that changes how players utilise the perks etc.

                  its a bit like saying that all the WoW updates they do to balance don't effect the gameplay.

                    I'm still playing this after going back on my plan of selling it.

                    The new maps havent been all that great imo, & I prefer the original maps, altho the new maps do at least have plenty of paths to get you to your destination, rather than forcing you into an alley of death.
                    I'm annoyed that there's gonna be less map packs with this compared to MW3's amount, cos I was really expecting better quality maps with Trey just as with Bk Ops 1.

                    Weapon wise I just kinda stick to what I like, which tend to be the Assault Rifles/SMG's/Snipers that you start out with, & just kit them out my way.

                    Scorestreaks I dont play around with & keep to the lower one's cos I know I'm not gonna get a big pile of kills without a death.

                    Its better than MW3 imo, but only just.

                      MW1 is still the best, only UAV, Airstrtike & Chopper, that's it, alll gunplay and no boosting, akimbo ****e

                        Havent played BO2 since the first day it came out, it was the "hump that broke the camels back" for me...in fact mw3 probably was.

                          The new maps hit last night on PS3 so finally had a go. They're alright, the skatepark and Hydro are my highlights. No bad eggs, fairly middle of the road stuff really. Hopefully they'll experiment more with the next pack.

                            Skatepark is my least liked imo. A total copout of an idea to try & appeal to the youngsters. Spawning areas are very predictable leading to many deaths & it just feels like a quickly thrown together layout i.e. go left, go right, go middle & get capped. Its just my opinion, altho I havent skated it yet.

                                Returned to this for some online matches, as its 10 minutes gaming at a time, where time is short recently. Been investing time away from Free-for-all and putting it into Kill Confirmed mode, which is almost as good and addictive.

                                Made me laugh as now that Nuketown map that everyone ebayed for seriously silly money is now a FREE download!

                                Alas this is another game that wants you to shell ?34 for a season pass.
