I just finished the SP and whilst it improves in the final levels I think it's an average game at best. Really I think the formula has just worn too thin and the spectacle isn't as impressive as its aged so much.
There are some level highlights and the future weapons tech does make for some interesting parts but on the whole the big noise they made about the special forces mode and having big decisions in the campaign both cell pretty flat. I didn't find any of the characters engaging, at each of the major decisions I could care less and though I went the good guy route for a play through I can't be bothered replaying to see any alternate scenarios. How bad are those special forces levels though? I mean... Jeez they're woeful.
Anyway I'm glad I played through and stuck it out to the end because its finally made me realise I'm done with the series now unless they really go back to the drawing board. MP is bland in this and SP wasn't much better, from the sounds of it I don't think I can be arsed playing the new zombies content.
As such I think a trade for Far Cry 3 is looking good right now.
