I just finished the SP and whilst it improves in the final levels I think it's an average game at best. Really I think the formula has just worn too thin and the spectacle isn't as impressive as its aged so much.

There are some level highlights and the future weapons tech does make for some interesting parts but on the whole the big noise they made about the special forces mode and having big decisions in the campaign both cell pretty flat. I didn't find any of the characters engaging, at each of the major decisions I could care less and though I went the good guy route for a play through I can't be bothered replaying to see any alternate scenarios. How bad are those special forces levels though? I mean... Jeez they're woeful.

Anyway I'm glad I played through and stuck it out to the end because its finally made me realise I'm done with the series now unless they really go back to the drawing board. MP is bland in this and SP wasn't much better, from the sounds of it I don't think I can be arsed playing the new zombies content.

As such I think a trade for Far Cry 3 is looking good right now.

You clearly are not on BT Infinity 2 with a low ping. Online is total garbage for anyone with a low ping

My ending was a series of WTFs. When that

          metal band sequence happened

, I actually was squirming with embarrassment on behalf of myself.

Still having a blast on this. It'll have run it's course in the next week I reckon though.

One thing that's mildly peeving are the obnoxious, unskippable dev/publisher logos at the start. My PS3 crashed thrice last night, and I had to sit through those snappily edited montages of war guff and swooshing logos every darn time. Oh, and you have to see David Mason put on his wicked cool war shades too, because seeing the on screen text without first being shown it's part of a virtual HUD would make your brain explode.

I'm sure I remember MW2 being fantastically to the point with it's title screens and it's missed in a similarly quick-fix game.

I guess you are lucky, maybe it is an infinity thing. My brother has infinity and same issues. I sold mine today so no more swearing at my screen. Oddly, bad COD games mean I am now playing single player games and really enjoying them. Bye Bye COD..

I have moved the MW1, it is WAY better than MW3 and BO2. I think al lot people might be moving back to it as it there getting a game is easy. There is the odd connection issue, but with the great map and no care packages etc. it is proving to be a lot a fun!

                  Nintendo Wii U version

Never really been a fan of COD games but I thought I'd give this a go on Wii U.

It's actually quite good. Been playing some online and it runs very smooth with no connection issues so far.

Been playing it on the gamepad with headphones on and it's quite an experience in the fact that you get really sucked into the action and looks great.

There's loads of ways to play it, you can use the Gamepad, pro controller, classic controller, classic controller pro and Wii remote with nunchuk!

Purchased the Wii U edition today. Runs great. Love using the gamepad. I really like the button/stick layout of the controller. Also cool to be able to switch classes on the fly on the touch screen. Looking forward to playing "split" screen with a mate.

Had a coupme of games on this earlier running the entire game purely through the gamepad, after changing the controls to Classic I was well in my element. The game looks great on the gamepad screen and had no trouble making peeps out on the screen. Connection was spot on also. Excellent stuff

Wii U players: What sensitivity are you using when playing on the gamepad? Is it just me or is the aiming much more sensitive than on the 360? I'm down to 3 on the sensitivity now and consider taking it further down. It just feels so "wrong" to have so low sensitivity.

I'm playing with sensitivity set to 8 and am having no issues.

                          How weird.

My bad, it was actually at 7, it just displayed only 3 dots out of many more. So it still looks very low considering how high it can go. Are you using look acceleration?

Ok so I've just been playing the campaign of this. And I got to the first strike force mission. What a load of rubbish You have a minute to set people up even though I had no idea where to set them up due to a horrible looking overview of the map that gives you no indication of anything really. And then all hell breaks loose and within about 3 minutes my team was dead and now the game says I only have two more units?

I was quite enjoying the game up until that bit, now just I feel like the developers have punched me in the crotch and then ran away while laughing.

^ And the Strike Force Missions get worse after the first. Don't even bother trying to play it as an RTS top down. It just doesn't work. Go to first person at every opportunity.
