This is easily the best thing on WiiU, rmoxons description nails it. Fits the systems design perfectly to the point that I think bar a PS3-Vita version few would use a port to other formats would be pointless.

I had my first session last night. Completed the first 'venturing out' mission with my heart pounding as I got back to the safe-house. The chase back was proper panic inducing, like Manhunt but with much more at stake.
Got to applaud Ubisoft for making such an uncompromising game to launch a system with. It's very focussed, and I can see me getting obsesseed with inventory conservation (saying that, I might burn through the lot if I get cornered, who knows).
As has already been said, it's a little clunky mechanically, but the bleakness, the tension and the atmosphere is what makes it special. It's kind of a Richard Matheson vibe. Surveying any zone is tense, and getting through something, even at this early stage is really satisfying. Hope the game continues as well as it starts. I'm expecting a difficulty spike anytime soon ... should be interesting

I'm actually surprised how long this game is.
Over 10 hours(and 20 survivors) in and I still don't feel like the end is in sight. Which is a good thing really, as I simply don't want this game to end.
Havent enjoyed a game this much all year to be honest. It's the GOTY without question. It has been a poor year, so that's not too difficult, but when you consider that this is a launch title it's very impressive.Last edited by rmoxon; 03-12-2012, 10:54.

Something you might not realise, because the game never tells you. Is that you can store items in a box in your safe house. This helps.

I've finally had a bloody good go on this put about 5hrs into it at the Tower of London now
I'm absolutely loving this after the initial baptism of fire such as the gamepad layout, timing of the swing of the cricket bat and finding your bearingswell worth recommending gameplay and atmosphere is spot on for a survival horror game

It's funny but this was the game that people were the most worried about, then came the rubbish reviews, and now (we at least) are singing its praises.
I really wish Nintendo had put an option in to install games to HDD / storage from disc, as I am finding the loading times somewhat long, and also the cut scenes are very jerky sometimes, no idea why.

Got thought the Buckingham Palace section last night. To my delight I didn't lose my survivor, had some pretty tense moments but I also had lots of guns, grenades, mines and Molotov cocktails. I can only manage one mission a night in this, it's to scary and the prolonged periods of me holding my breath whilst I try to dispatch a group of zombies is bad for my health!
This is the shining jewel in the WiiU launch line up. I hope it's sold well enough to get a second game.

Bought this today. Think I'm about to have a heart attack; this game is intense. I can feel my pulse rapidly increasing every few minutes while playing. It's also very good. Though it has a learning curve. Anybody expecting it to play exactly like the last first person shooter and/or zombie game they played will be - like Greg Miller - severely disappointed.

EDIT
Just got to the front gate of Buck Palace and doing a bit of scanning. Picked up an infected which turned out to be none other than OriginalBadBoy. Needless to say I blew his face off with my trusty pistol.Cheers for the goodies, mate!
