I think I'm fed up with this already. Guess I'm not in the mood for the RPG-type elements, which when illogically implemented just turn into a major immersion-breaker. I'm not half an hour out of my pampered rich-boy lifestyle - which was set up brilliantly, fair play - and already I'm skinning animals and tanning/crafting rather tasteful bespoke leather goods, without which I couldn't possibly hold another herb or weapon. The guns do sound nice, though.

Basically look on the map shoreline to the east, zoom in and the is a large dark circle near the end of one beach. It's basically a huge trench and I think there's a relic near it as well. Use a syringe and just swim all the way down. It's a bit freaky but you get the cheev for it.
I had never come across a alligator in water underground so I dived into some pitch black water all confident and was greeted with massive teeth and a barrel roll
I screamed like a girl & My wife looked at me as if you say 'You massive prick, grow up!'.

I've concluded this is execrable, for me at least. Over-fussy and implausible RPG elements shoehorned into an averages FPS in a world that is much less alive, varied and beautiful than it's cracked up be. The day-night cycle is comical - almost instantaneous (GTA3 did this more convincingly almost a thousand years ago). Shockingly designed (Rorschach cards as inspiration?!) and managed UI and menus, which are also very sluggish (PS3 at least). The amount of spam they generate turns them into the game-interface equivalent of google mail. Mostly a cluster of 'exclamation marks' directing your attention to the latest witticism.Last edited by Golgo; 16-02-2013, 12:11.

Picked this up on the Steam Sale for cheap. Loving it so far, I've just been cruising around hunting stuff - great fun! Trying to be stealthy on my first pirate raid - stuffed up but cleaned up with my trusty AK. Combat is pretty cool cover mechanic seems to work well. I can see me putting in some serious hours into this.
Looks super sweet on my pretty useless PC. Can't believe I've missed this first time around. Another great Ubi game.

Well after 101 hours I've finished the single player campaign and reached about level 30 on the online-co-op.
Really enjoyed it, this game oozes quality. Yes I did find the
uncharted type exploring bits
a little too much, and a lot of the side quests are very samey. But in terms of an open world sandbox, I felt it hit the nail on the head. I spent a lot of the early game gathering items, hunting, exploring and levelling up. It is always funny sitting on a hill overlooking a fort and releasing a bear or tiger in the camp and watching it tear them apart through the binoculars. I had a great moment swimming in a lake when all of a sudden I was WTF!! a FRIGGIN CROC!!! Scared the hell out of me as I didn't know they were in the game
I've really had fun on the online co-op as well. Right up my street, hilarious stereo typing but I've had some classic online moments. Will definitely try and play all the way through that campaign as well.
All in all, a very, very good game - I suppose I'm it's target market. 9/10
