I'm so pleased you're enjoying this, dD!

It would have broken my heart if you didn't like it! I love how you're the official go-to guy for questions now!

If you simply block then you are going to eat hits, unless you evade cancel the animation into possibly a true parry (with quick tap of blade mode)

If you are consistently parrying everything with ease I suggest you stop playing this and start playing fighting games competitively, you will make a lot of money.

The 5-frame parry is required for full gauge finishers and thus, the S ranks, which I'm also calling BS on. Later on you must chain these finishers into Ripper Mode so that you can constantly chain the bigger enemies together for Zandatsus and keep your bar from expiring.

S-ranks are based on time, bp, and no damage.
errm. I'm pretty crap at fighting games usually. I'm finding this extreamly easy though. There doesn't seem to be a large move set and the entire game requires you to do the same thing over and over, ocasionally mixing things up for the player by making you perform a seemingly random QTE.

And errm, no it's not bull****, becuase it's what's happening when I'm playing the game. Relying on a singular parry move does not make the game deep. Once you realise how to play this it's just such a boring cakewalk (compared to the boring awkward mess it initially appears before you learn how to play it). Either way its just not a very good game.

Yeah that sounds like a better idea, plus I like doing that move! Reminds me a lot of Vanquish with the slo-mo knee slide.
And as for scoring (I know this has probably been explained before) what is best for blade mode? Get all slash happy to get multiple pieces or go for a methodical slice to take arms/legs/head? Or not bother at all and go for Zandatsu?

I'd wager on limb removals followed by Zandatsu. I'm not up to date with scoring as I'm only starting Revengeance Mode.

One or two limbs will be sufficient I think. Don't burn too much bar without a guarantee on full gauge return or else you won't be able to initiate any more finishers from a true parry.

I beat Rising twice now and its really not that rewarding. I played Bayonetta for about 100 hours because it kept on giving. You could also see all your enemies and their attacks which made a no damage run easier and more fair. In Rising you also have to fight other issues and be lucky at times.

Generally speaking, I just don't like the fighting mechanics of this game. I am also tired of the Zandatsu already. I hope Platinum steers away from the slow mo mechanic in the future. Its wearing kind of thin.

After about 15 hours of play, I have to give this a 6.

Yeah the camera in this is pretty terrible. You constantly have to adjust it yourself or you can't see enemies half the time. It's not very well made.

Well you do automatically close in to the nearest enemy so you can always hit, but it isn't pretty. And with those flying dudes around, my Stingers typically go towards the grounded foes. Which annoys me to no end.

But Platinum shows theyre talented. They had to rebuild a train wreck from Kojipro from scratch and had to deal with a very tight window to do it.

                    RB locks on.

Notice how sliders are always paired with heavy foes? You can ninja run and leap frog from the heavy to take down the sliders first. As if using the sai wasn't straight forward enough.

If you can't see the enemy it's your own fault for getting boxed in. It should take only a couple of attempts at each section to learn how not to end up like this. Not running around button mashing usually helps. Bayonetta is exactly the same.

The lock-on is **** in this, I've lost count of the times it has changed my selection on a boss battle to a lesser enemy!

I struggled last night to get past the fat bloke with the red shields. Being able to lock on to a red shield using a red lock-on is a skill I just cannot master. :\

Still, got past him eventually. At the point now where the story is entering that MGS point of totally OTT stupidity.

Every man, woman and dog has decried the woeful camera. Are you under contract to Konami to post stuff like this?

No, I'm just not terrible at games.

I could post a million videos where the camera isn't a problem if you like.

So everyone - ordinary gamers and professional reviewers - who've remarked on camera are "terrible at games"? The fact you can post instances where camera happens to be behaving wouldn't prove much, as "a million" contrary examples could be found.

I've not had any problems with the camera, only when I have put myself in bad placement or pulling out spines in a tight corner. The latter sucks a little as you can't really see what's coming next.

I've not used anything apart from the sword yet, the other weapons any good?
