There's a Japanese only Nintendo Direct on Friday, packed - apparently - with MH4 info and goodies. No doubt a newly stencilled ltd ed 3DS, an' all.

Usually when they do some sort of Monster Hunter conference like they did with the pre release of P3rd HD (which was sometime late in April) the games usually take 3 months to release. P3rd HD I think was released in late July.

So hopefully, we're looking at August.

Way too early to say, if it'll get a 3DS/ wii U HD update.
3 Ultimate took 15 months roughly from JPN 3DS release.

Even if it did, I think I'll stick with the import. Mainly because in 3U we're already missing DLC weapons that Capcom west have vehemently said they would get.
The sgt. Frog mask (changed to meat mask), negima GS, pirate J dual blades are missing currently.

I've got a registration code for the 3DS version if anyone wants it. One hitch, your 3DS has to be registered with Club Nintendo between now and the 30th, it doesn't have to be purchased in that period, just registered for the first time. First person to PM can have it.

I'm guessing these codes wouldn't work on my US (or JPN) unit, which is a shame. I'll let other forumites get on it first, but if anyone ends up with one they absolutely can't shift, I'd appreciate one for my lady seeing as she got a 3DSXL last week.

I'm brand new to the series and started playing this last night on the 3DS for a few hours, but I'm finding it very slow going so far. I'm mostly doing very basic fetch quests (mushrooms, iron etc), which are teaching me the ropes but leaves it feeling a little like a lonely MMO. I want to fight giant monsters! I heard the game has a steep learning curve, but how long does it take to get into the game proper?

Never cared for Monster Hunter much, but I'm starting to become curious about it. MH3U 3DS demo didn't do much for me but I've been assured by many that it isn't representative of the total experience.

Is it worth getting a copy of MH3U (3DS version, most likely) now or should I just wait for MH4?

Depending on your regions 3ds, if you have a JPN unit then it might be worth waiting, if your 3ds is any other region there isn't any confirmation of mh4 and the game is good enough to get a lot of things from it. I hadn't played one before and I'm enjoying it on both 3ds and wii u. Nearly up to triple digit playing time. You really get out what you put in.

I'm going for HR6 tonight. I've now got the Heartshot Bow 1, which took me nearly all weekend to make. It's way powerful though. I'm still deciding on a good armour set to go for next. I'm not overly impressed with my current Gigginox set.

Is bow decent then? It' been one of my two weapons of choice so far, was the only thing I managed to kill the great wroggi with and that took bleeding forever as it kept running off to heal. Also considering the hunting horn - really like the fact that it's a strong weapon and that it provides decent buffs.
