I'm still waiting for a game of the year but we haven't even hit summer yet so no worries. As for the Wii... put to the great box in the attic four months ago and not missed. Keep forgetting they even have a new one. A sad time at the moment if you ask me.

Now, for me at least, imagine how good Bioshock could be if it wasn't a FPS. Great design and imagination wasted on running about shooting things. Again.

I'm also not so enamoured with the storytelling as so many others appear to be. I missed a lot of it as I my attention wasn't held during the telling of it. And as for those cassette things left lying around... well why? They were okay the first time but aren't they a bit dated now? Again a lot of them were missed.

All in all a solid 7, 8 if you like FPS.

That was the mechanic used in System Shock 2 which they seem determined to keep up although it worked much better in SS2 as you awaken onto a ship that's completely deserted bar one other crew member and various enemies so they're vital to try and figure out what has happened.

I was having a read here to see if there were people that enjoyed Infinite that weren't fussed about Bioshock but it doesn't seem that way. I didn't enjoy Bioshock that much as it felt like a poor copy of System Shock 2 and many of the elements didn't work as well, it felt much more point to point than a real environment and although it felt interesting initially I didn't like the setting much.

          I finished this on Friday.

          Regarding the ending:

I quite like how the Booker/Comstock split plays out – I didn’t see it coming, but looking back there’s certainly some evidence that Booker is capable of some true atrocities, much more so than his troubled yet remorseful self-portrayal lets on throughout the game. What I don’t like are a lot of the implications of the lighthouses and the whole ‘Infinite’ part – this story works in isolation due to the characters, yes, but the winks (some less subtle the others) towards infinite possibilities, and the original game as an example, are just too weak for me to get excited about. I’m probably missing some glaringly obvious detail here too, but if we’re also saying that Lutece’s funding only comes from Comstock (Columbia doesn’t exist in the universe Booker is taken from), then what happens when Booker is drowned? Are we now reliant on new characters in a new universe to create the ability to open rifts? Did the original Bioshock just get wiped from existence too?

The ending did make me think even if my thoughts weren’t entirely positive, which is good, and whilst I still didn’t particularly enjoy the mechanics by the end of it, I’m glad I saw the game through for that. Certainly don’t think it’s anywhere near as great as some people seem to think, though.

superb story and wonderful visuals. Shame the game itself lacks the same thought and quality... Maybe I'm just a bit fatigued with modern gaming, but I found this and Tomb Raider incredibly underwhelming. Too much effort on the story and visuals and none really into the game, mechanics or level design, which of course is real shame.

It's hard to rate tbh, if you focus on the overall effort its clearly a 9 or 10. But considering it's apparently a game and that part is secondary I find it hard to give it anything higher then a 6.

Ah well, maybe I'm getting old...?

I finished this last night but I only got it on Tuesday. Not a very long game I must say and to be honest not worth the price. I loved what was there but the fact I have to buy a "season Pass" to play online is a ****ing joke. I bought the game brand new, I pay for XBOX Gold and they want me to pay more just to play their game online with "extra" areas and characters?? They can piss off. I'm really dissapointed with this season pass crap. Still, as I said, what was there was good. It just needs to be longer plus there needs to be a NEW GAME + option.

There is no online play, mate. The season pass is for future DLC, I believe.

No Online play in a FPS game? Is this a first? man, what a bummer. In that case I feel the game is defiantly not worth the price. way too short.

That was a well known fact that there was no multiplayer.

Yeah, well known if you followed the game which I didn't.

I believe there are several precedents for FPS games that do not feature multiplayer.

Just Finished this today, I'm not sure if I enjoyed it as much as Bioshock and I wasn't particularly impressed by the ending

I don't think it's gaming law that an FPS must have multiplayer. Plus one look at the back of the box / product web page / e-store page before you even buy it will tell you how many players.

The original Bioshock did not have multiplayer. The second had tacked on multiplayer. Bioshock is a single player series through and through. It should not have multiplayer.

I'm just about finished this loot 'em up (never known a game where you search for/pick up so much stuff) and I've really enjoyed it. The game world is very impressive, the story's good, and the shootouts have been pretty fun too, although I preferred to approach most without any vigors and just a trusty sniper rifle (vigors were very handy for bigger foes/bosses though).

Also applaud the move to make it single-player only. I sometimes get the impression that single-player campaigns in fps's are little more than afterthoughts ... so it's nice to have something that was built from the ground up as a single player experience.

Now, I've got Tomb Raider & Halo 4 waiting to be played next ... decisions decisions.
