Try the seasonals JU!, getting gold in them pays decent money. Especially if you have logged in for a few days in a row recently, you could probably afford the GTR with just one seasonal gold. Win gold in all and you get loads of CR's.

Speaking on Seasonals, I just can't get gold in the 15th Anniversary Cars one, all the 10 cars I have just aren't up to the job, even the Corvette.

I'm up to 57% complete now, works out you get 1% game completion per six stars roughly.

Only real expensive car I've had to buy was a 2J to take part in the Historic one that was 1979 car or earlier, up to 750PP! couldn't tune anything anywhere near that so splashed out 4.5M CR's

Why didn't you buy the Toyota 7 for that event? It is just under 2 Million and tunes up to 750 easily.

I am guessing those latest Seasonals are more difficult, though I only tried the Hudson one so far.

I have the 15 Anniversary cars. I got two packs with my Amazon Pre-Order and that O2 Adrenaline Pack.

PD ought definitely put those Anniversary Car packs on PSN because I would expect people buying the normal version of the game now will not get any Anniversary Packs and will be frustrated at not being able to do all the Seasonals. It seems rather short sighted of them not to have put them up there to buy.

Forgot all about the Toyota 7 until it was too late, isn't a problem, the 2J is lovely to drive.

Finally completed the "15th Anniversary only cars" Seasonal last night, in the GT86 tuned to the max and played with gearings etc, wasn't easy for sure but gave a 1.3M CR payout with the 200% log in bonus. Believe two more Seasonals are due up very soon too.

You can buy the Anniversary cars via ebay if you're desperate to get hold of them. Hopefully they will be added to PSN at some point so people who didn't pre-order don't miss out.

Golded the new Seasonals (I'd only Bronzed the Hudson one and was waiting for 200% to kick in). Took a few laps to Gold the Hudson.

The Mito one wasn't too bad to Gold.

The Anniversary at Apricot Hill proved a little more troublesome finding a suitable car. I went normal initially with the Cizeta and was reasonably fast but not excessively controllable! Moved to a race car with the SLS GT3, but by the time the PP was OK it had lost too much power and was slower than the Cizeta. Third attempt was with the Megane which proved much more useful, though only a "semi racer" (rear downforce only). After a few laps I managed a 1:21.8, so job done and another 5 Million in the kitty courtesy of the three events.

Yes that 15th Anniversary seasonal is real hard if you don't have the right pack of cars, as above I did it in the GT86 so it can be done, but took a while to get the perfect lap.
Sure some more seasonals are due to pretty soon.

I think I took about 5 or 6 laps with the Megane. I did my usual add ballast, fully modded it (other than the N/A upgrades I think) and reduced the power with the gauge. Seemed much more competitive out of the box. In some respects it is better on the second and subsequent laps as the tyres are warmer. I think I managed to get an invalidation so restarted when I Golded it.

Supposedly the Hudson is better if you short shift it. I must admit I managed it on Auto though.

The biggest problem for me was the crowd of Friend's Driving Lines on the screen when picking the best place to brake for a corner. They did a wonderful job of obscuring the view of the track ahead!

Love this. Finally got my hands on it today and it's the complete GT package the PS3 has been waiting for even if it's a bit late. It looks great and the handling is spot on. Only down side to me is the boring A.I and car sound FX.

I have to say Polyphony have listened and really improved the menus, it's much nicer to get around. Little things like finding the right elegible car for each race is much easier and you can simply tone down the cars power to match the right performance points for that race which is kinda taking a leaf out of forza's book but it's a good thing. Even arcade mode is just sat there in the career menu.

Nice to have a bit of Christmas music on the menu screen today.

                Good stuff.

Yes Polyphony have listened and it will only get more complete with the many updates in the coming months.

Christmas music has been on there all week

Got the platinum tonight, million times quicker than in GT5, think I'm at 72% game completion.

Ah I see, the music must be doing your head in by now then lol.

I kinda feel sad that it's not sold as well as it should, it's already one of my favourites of the series but still room for a next gen improvement.

I've noticed this time you can't go through all of the licenses in one go now, it sets up the pace of the game as you play through.

Got this for Christmas and first thing that hit me is the handling model which is immense, the ways the cars lean and you can feel traction in the rumble, and if the car is going to slide out etc. Weight distribution between wheels and weight of the car you are in control of is very noticeable compared to previous GT games. The log in each day bonus feature is brilliant too, better for building CR. GT6 in general is so much more interesting than GT5 and much more streamlined and refined. The way you progress from event to event and always have side missions to enjoy whether that be Coffee breaks, Goodward or Mission mode all with great variety giving you the opportunity to drive different feeling cars as well as ones you cannot initially afford.

The amount of tracks is great with variations, of World circuits and original ones. Weather conditions changing as well as time of day is impressive in cycle. The menus are such a breath of fresh air did not realise how bad and sloooow the GT5 menus were before playing GT6. Seeing Friends list players ghosts lines and what they did on licenses as well as trying to beat times is a great addition.

Each car feels so different so excited to try more plus some of the other events like Nascar Karting and Rally.

                      A few negatives so far

Not tried online yet so cannot comment.

A.I seems improved a bit, still not aggressive enough. Cannot get my head around why Polyphony Digital don't focus on this. I think it could be because they want it to perhaps be more relaxing to play GT not really sure of other reasons they could ignore it for so long, Polyphony Digital please look at Ferrari F355 for how to do A.I. Damage still not full, again not sure why not yet. Some car sounds need to sound meatier I think or more like there counterpart in real life and not washing machines (granted I have only noticed on certain cars).

Dynamic weather and sky should be on every track. Why have 10 versions of some cars especially standard ones. Hope the do a small update to be able to press next on the licenses. Seasonal should have more cash ala GT5 I believe. Bring back all the GT original tracks that are missing instead of just some, I would like to see Seattle Circuit from GT3 for example. car noises when collisions also still make the same clunk again not sure if they will patch this over time but would be nice.

I am 50/50 on whether to get this or not, GT5 really burned me out and I only put it down earlier this year. Are the new real world circuits worth it? Is Spa a standard part of the roster this time?

                        Comment

Spa is used a fair bit yes. I too played GT5 a hell of a lot but still love GT6, it is down to ?27 at GAME at the moment if that helps....

Spa seems to be not available in Arcade mode poss unlock not sure. As DavidH said it seems to be used a fair bit in career mode. I like the World circuits added. Silverstone, Goodwood and Brands hatch plus others are added from GT5's DLC I think. They are all good fun.

When will PD learn that the PP number you get with the car from the dealership ought to be the number when you use the car. I was doing some comparison runs with cars of close PP but different weights. The Muira Prototype came up and the PP increased when I used the car.

After buying an adjustable gearbox to up the Muira top speed I decided on a couple of runs with the Corvette C7 on the Route X "Like the Wind". Did a normal first run first (N2O at 10%) and managed to get distracted and crashed spectacularly on the first corner. Set off using some Nitrous and hit 301 mph on the back straight with slipstreaming. Checked Stats and it said my top speed was 300 mph... Hmmmm! I did win comfortably, so 140K Credits. Put N2O up to 50% and ran again keeping behind some of the cars until the back straight. Managed to see 315 mph with the slpstreaming! Checked Stats and (of course!) I had managed 313 mph. I did save the two replays. I wonder why the speed I actually see is not the maximum speed I manage...

Decided to get the rest of the Chrome Line cars. I have those, the Stealth Models and the Anniversary Cars as my favourites in the garage as they are all better than the stock equivalent. So... 15 Anniversary, 6 Chrome Line and 5 Stealth (assuming I bought them all).

My top speed shows as 313mph too, it normally shows as 2mph slower than you actually achieve, I noticed the same back when I was in the single hundreds.

Anyone else doing the S Licence races yet? some are pretty long, but give a payout of over 400,000 CR with the 200% log in bonus.
Difficulty is quite tough on some of them when you can't use a race car and a bit like F1, do you drive at 90% all the time and get away with one pit stop or push push push and have to make a second stop. So hard to gauge as you can't tell what the AI are doing and nothing worse than losing a 25 minute race but a handful of seconds.

Think I'm at around 80% completion now, just a few S races left, some coffee break bits and the dreaded Karts. Done the first three kart races on gold, and all the rally ones but the higher cc Kart races really do my head in. Need to check out some weight distribution suggestions.

Hopefully some more Seasonals are due up soon.
