Are you having any issue with rain on those S Class races, or was I the unlucky one on the second one I tried?

I have yet to find a car that will top 315mph. Someone on another forum reckons they have gone faster, but I suspect that you need "perfect conditions" to do some. A fully modded Huayra manages about 1HP per Kg, so ought to be better. I did get 280K with one for a couple of races but only got to about 310mph. Admittedly the total time for the race was under 4 minutes.

Issues with rain in what way? reason I say this is that I have found that on tracks like Suzuka in the rain the game stutters now and again, very frustrating, noticed it on Spa too.

Regarding strategy in the rain, I just always use hard sport tyres and take it with a bit more caution when braking and cornering. Some races rain throughout and others the rain comes and goes - think this is fixed in the S races so will be the same if you quit and start again.

Quite often the AI will pit more often in the rain. Can be pretty tough to see in the day changing to night time races in the rain too - especially if you're using a race car like the 2J which doesn't have any headlights at all, won't be repeating that error again.

The sport hard tyres are fine in the wet really, and most of the S races are limited to 650PP or 750PP. Is an idea to up the TCS a notch in the wet too if you know it's going to be a wet race.

Is this much better than GT5? I have recently started to really like GT5. Handling is good, I remember the GT6 demo being better but that was ages ago.

I think it's much better than GT5 yes, handling wise for sure, each car feels different and you can notice the difference when jumping from one vehicle to another for sure. This was ?27 from GAME over Christmas, don't know if still is.

AI wise? Any sort of challenge?

            Comment

The only challenge with the AI is avoiding them spinning you out or pushing you into a barrier.

I can see no way of Golding that last Anniversary Seasonal without the R18. I am around 12 seconds off the pace with other cars and I have yet to even achieve a clean lap with those as I pushing hard. It is demoralising to lose sight of other friends whi, I presume have the R18.

PD are to congratulated for being totally frustrating with regard to the availability of those car packs. Not being able to do everything in a game is annoying at best, especially as I have Gold on all the other Seasonals.

I'll have to try those Sports Tyres for the other S Class races and see how I get on with them.

In the S Class the AI can be tough at times, but that is mainly due to the 20 second lead they have from the off when there are so many rolling starts in the game and you're placed 15th or 16th out of a field of 16 cars.

Not tried the new Seasonals, will do tonight. Anniversary car packs were on ebay last time I looked, don't know why they aren't on the PSN to buy, missed opportunity there.

A friend came round last night so we tried some split-screen GT6. There did seem to be some very odd physics coming in to play there. We used Courtesy cars and were racing "Monaco". I was in the Megane. We were going up the hill after the Start Finish line. I braked for the corner before (at?) the Casino and the car behaved very strangely. A replay proved that the car did a "stoppie" with the rear wheels well clear of the ground. No wonder the handling was odd!

Checked out ebay last night. Will be interested to see what I get out of it. I figured it was worth a try.

There are some car weird car physics at times yes, it can be too easy to flip a car when clipping a kerb too. There was a video of a car running on two wheels (on one side of the car) for about six seconds.

Reminds me of the good old tuning days of GT3 with wheelies and the like

Just have the one S Class race left now, Le Mans in the wet and dark, can't seem to get within 15 seconds of the leader ggrrr.

You seen this thread re the new 15th Anniversary Car Seasonal you were struggling on Bassman
I only have precision and velocity packs and thus no R18. Got 2.17.5 with the Audi R8 LMS and not sure if it's possible to shave another 2.5 seconds.. Anyone tried ? Any tuning advice would be appreciated. :) edit: Did it! Thanks for the tips everyone...

Sounds like can be done in a couple of cars as well as the R18.

Interesting thread. I didn't have the HSV either. So no decent racers and I am nt sure I would be that good with a road car.

I got a single code through for the Anniversary Pack (so no spare codes for the packs I already had).

So, effectively, I got 10 Cars, Paint Codes (plenty of choice for Chrome now), Racing Suit and some Avatars. Not too disastrous for ?14.95 I suppose. I am happy anyway. I finally have normal Chrome and normal Gold Chrome (not that I am likely to use them I suppose). I wanted the cars anyway. Cheaper than paying ?40+ for an Anniversary game.

Edit: With the R18 I was about 1.7 seconds under the Gold time (reduced gearing to 205). Paintwise I now have at least 20 Chromes and Mattes courtesy of the Seasonals and the Paint Pack. Changed to the Anniversary Racing Outfit as well.

Edit 2!: Tried Sports Softs on the R18 for the Suzuka race and proceeded to go backwards compared to the AI cars. Lost interest after 5 laps. There was rain, but none was settling. The car suddenly seemed somewhat darty compared to using Racing Tyres. Guaranteed to fishtail if I wasn't careful. Not sure what to try next.

Edit 3!!!... There are actually 100 Paint Chips in the Anniversary Pack. Split between Metallic, Polarized, Matte and Chrome.

                      Finally...

Finally got around to attempting the fabled seasonal last night, managed to gold it, did it with the Viper I already had, tuned it to the max and did it on about fourth attempt. Very fast car, being American it doesn't corner or brake very well though.

Clearing up all the One-Make, Coffee Break and Mission stuff now, am up to 87% game completion, getting there slowly but surely.
Some of them are really fun some are a chore and and/or pretty tough. The Muira one at Brands for example took about six attempts. Still about seven Kart races remain to be golded too sadly

I finally got a second account to 200% so caught up on the Seasonals. Even though I had done them all to Gold on my main account, the Hudson one proved to be a total pain to Gold. I eventually beat my main account time after making numerous attempts over a couple of nights.

I was finally able to try that second Seasonal with the Audi Quattro on that second account which proved realtively painless.

I was interested to find that increasing the wheel size when selecting Custom Wheels increases the number of options available. Best to avoid them on cars with different size wheels front to rear as the Customization results in front and rear getting the same wheels which can have a detrimental effect on handling.

You would have thought by now that PD would have sorted out the weight of that old Volvo Estate. Even with full weight reduction it is still heavier than the listed weight for the stock car!
