I played this a lot yesterday, I've only got two trophies to go now. It's certainly awesome, especially once you get to know the finer details of the island and enemy placement. There's a lot of fun to be had once you get all the weapons, and kill restrictions are lifted too.
I'm not sure why it gets written off as being too short. If you play it as intended, there's a lot of gameplay involved, with lots of smart bits of dialogue that reference other titles in the series.
I've had eight and a half hours out of it so far, which many "real" games don't offer. I consider it a game in it's own right personally. Roll on The Phantom Pain.Kept you waiting, huh?

Finished up all the side ops on both difficulties and got all of the collectibles over the weekend. Not going to S rank every mission but did discover some good ways of getting towards the S ranks.
Thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed this. Got well over 10 hours out of the game and absolutely love it.

I've got three S-Ranks to go. That'll take me up to 100% completion, and all the trophies. Should be done tonight. Having Ride of the Valkyries playing when the chopper is coming in is straight badass. Akio Ōtsuka>24 too.
TPP is going to own this gen unless From make Demon's Souls 2.Last edited by J0e Musashi; 07-04-2014, 15:34.Kept you waiting, huh?

Quick FYI for you guys, but with the Jamais Vu / Deja Vu missions being accessable to all platforms, those who were at 100% aren't anymore. You'll be at 85% and will need to S-Rank the mission on Normal and Hard, then unlock all the trials for it to get back to 100%. Apparently you will get something in Phantom Pain for being at 100% so it's not over yet!

I am trying to 100% the game to get whatever it unlocks in The Phantom Pain (and because this game is gosh darned fantastic and I want to play more of it).
I've got S ranks on everything except Jamais Vu and it is driving me slightly crazy. I've seen a walkthrough vid and I follow it until the fight at the end. At that point I always get seen and end up with 3-5 combat alerts on my end score. Anyone got any tips?

You need to stay on top of the watch tower when fighting the guys that come out of the main building area. On hard you need to be lying down and staying to the back of it when crouching on it or you can still be seen. If you try and go to the edge of it you get seen. I assume your using the rocket launcher aswell?

Did the Jamais Vu mission this morning. I had the bright idea of putting C4 down where I knew the spawn/cover points were and then bombed the hell out of them from the safety of the watch tower.
Just got to get all prisoner in the AA mission and extract the sniper team to 100% it.
EDIT - FUuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu-
Just found out I need to do all missions on hard with an S rank for 100%. Maybe that won't happen.

Over the last couple of weeks I found myself obsessively longing to play some more MGS so I picked up the 360 version of GZ to see what it looks like.
Right off the bat you really notice the halved frame rate (coming from PS4), the aliasing and the lodding when you look out over the whole camp. However, taken by itself, this is a really impressive game to be running on 360 since it is keeping so much in memory and tracks the state of so many different AI and objects (C4 when you're on the other side of the map etc).
Played through a bunch of missions including some of the extra ways of playing to get certain achievements (extract Glas and Pelitz rather than killing them etc). This game really is fantastic. I just love everything about it. Despite all the hours logged on PS4 I still found some tough spots, discovered small new things and had a real blast. I find that since the game is so systemic rather than scripted, I just get in and play and enter the zone; making daring moves, experimenting with the AI and playing like Big Boss himself.
Definitely my GOTY and a hell of a game.
