Not true. Non-sword carriers need to handle knights, sword bearer, Crota's shield, and ogres. If you're not cheesing it, it can be quite a tense battle, and most people can't always guarantee that there will be a lvl32 on their fireteam either. To do it properly, it requires even more team communication than Atheon. What I would be critical of is the grind to level Eris up to level 4. It seems to be taking forever, even when doubling up on her bounties each day. My hunter is at level 32, but to get my other two classes there I'm going to have to convert a ****load of Radiant Energy via Eris that's going to cost somewhere in the region of 60K glimmer. Getting legendaries as rewards from Nightfall strikes is also starting to wear thin. Given that the much easier Vanguard Roc strike playlist also periodically gives out legendary engrams and occasional exotics, it's a bit of a joke that Nightfalls don't give exotics more often. Also, Vanguard Roc is still too easy if you're lvl30+, they need to add a new top-tier playlist to give high rank players more of a challenge.

Gotta agree with bccass on this one, its a very tense fight if your doing it how bungie intended, even with a full team of lv 31's.

Though i also agree with your point about the nightfall, there getting a real joke now, the last 2 nightfalls ive received 1 radiant shard from each and nothing else, with this weeks being an absolute fecker of a fight. I dont see bungie having any plans to give out radiant shards/energy, on the nightfall either, so to level any weapons or armour from crota is going to be literally impossible for people like me.

edit. see link for bungies upcoming fixes to crota http://www.polygon.com/2015/1/8/7518...ming-next-week

it's good that there giving us a reason to play the vault again I finished it the other day on hard mode and all I got the raid helmet and the exploding sparrow, the helmet used to be what everyone wanted but is now worse than the ones you can buy form the tower which is just crazy. at least the chance of getting a lvl32 exotic from the raid makes it relevant again.

I wish they would fix Atheon though the hard mode raid would of been done in half the time it took us if it wasn't for the bugs, we still have to contend with failing shields, teleported players having to destroy forcefields, and supplicants appearing in the teleport areas.

I'm glad they fixed the crota cheese too as its extremely frustrating spending 40 minutes messing about with disconects and cycles to orbit when you can kill him legitimately in ten minutes with a good team.

Never cheesed him, the fight is no patch on Atheon. You have one SC and 5 DPS, and not 2 teams of 3 that need to work accordingly. The Knights can be ignored if the SC is 32, I've made it out a lot when no one bothered to shot them. But you can place 2 on sniper duty during sword runs to be really safe. At level 31 the fight is simply annoying because you cannot afford much of a screw up, and sometimes Crota decided not to kneel or to get up after 2 seconds. Enrage is pretty much a wipe which is lame.

The ogres are being handled by the SC as well, since Ogres spawn inbetween sword bearers. Spray them with 6 guys from inside, not much strategy here.

The shield is also not hard, 5 guys can just hammer him with heavies when SC is jumping towards the platform. But you can also use a Hunter SC and cloak and wait next to him. No real timing required, they just have 10 secs to down his shield this way. The only thing people need to know is that Solar is required against Crota. For the rest its pretty much like shooting that first gatekeeper in VoG.

The last few weeks ROC gave me better rewards than the Nightfalls. Last week was MIDA Multi tool from ROC and Nightfall stuff was Coins, shards and stuff I broke down.

Nah, totally disagree. The timing for the group to take Crota's shield down, and the point at which the sword carrier has to land into Crota to start attacking is a million times more critical than anything in the Atheon battle. Atheon can be done without mics easily too. You can make countless mistakes on Atheon on Normal mode, but not with the Crota battle. You have to be significantly more precise with timings. Eitherway, I think both raids are brilliant, and mercifully different enough from each other. I'll be glad when the patch arrives on Tuesday so people will stop insisting on glitching through it. The next raid in March will be based in the Reef against the Fallen, although I would have preferred to see a Cabal raid next as I think they're the best of the new enemies in the game.

Over time, sure. I have played many Normal VoG's in the past where half of the team was clueless because they were warped all of a sudden and disoriented. Atheon without middle shield strategy is still sort of hard because you need to keep harpies in check as well. With shield it takes some knowledge too, as lots of teams still seem to get hit inside it which is their own fault because if you never touch the sc and never move, you will never get hit by splash damage. One needs to beat Harpies.

Crota was figured out much quicker. The timing isn't hard at all. With a level 32 SC you can botch quite a few of sword runs and still make it well before enrage. With a cloaked Hunter SC there is hardly any timing involved. You can constantly keep his shield minimized with weapons like VoC btw. We beat him with 3 guys, without mics. Granted, we're not exactly LFG randoms and all of us did have 331 maxed Horns, but still, it felt easier to us than Atheon ever did. Try to beat Atheon with 3.

Crota Normal is scaled like VoG Heroic, and supposed to be much harder than VoG Normal. Enemy level in latter half is 32, as is your max. In VoG Heroic they were 30 like your max. For VoG Normal you could overlevel (strongest mobs were 28).

Got to play the demo ....after installing a 18gb update which took me ages.

                  Unskippable cutscenes grrrrr

Gameplay seems fun but as far as story goes was expecting a lot more to it rather then...visit bungie.net. From what i have seen the level cap seems a bit to low so i suspect would not take long to reach it.While i quite liked the demo i will wait till a more complete version is released later on

Patch is up, and managed to beat mighty GAF on a lot of things (basically was first to post stuff).

-Public event package turned in post patch gave me Radiant Shard. Bungie has fixed this already, only Ass mats now.
-Bridge cheese still works, you can despawn enemies and trigger them at the other side. But you will be wiped if you all keep on sniping and don't activate the totems. Ogres did spawn during the wipe though. My question is, what if 2 guys are going to do the totems and the rest keeps on sniping?
-ir Yut gives exotic roll if you did not pick up the first chest before the patch yet. If you did pick it up, say, yesterday, then Ir Yut won't give anything.
-first chest has been reset, drops radiant today. So get it 3 times before the reset tomorrow!
                    -Black Hammer lost Hive Disruptor.

A guy actually hoarded PE packages, and opened them post patch:

Just checked to see how much time I've put in to this game on destiny.com, 238 hours in the last three months

I have kids a wife and a full time job i never really play before 8pm so I've found myself forgoing sleep so i can play it a bit longer, I cant remember a game I've ever played for more than a 100 hours skyrim maybe but i think that got just over 100 hours and that was over quite a time period.

so at ?60 for the game with two dlcs is this game value for money or do I need to get help for gaming addiction and get my head examined.

7 days 22 hours. When you stop playing destiny and find the help line number let me know. I'll still be playing destiny but I'll make a mental note to stop. Maybe :/

Finally got the Raid Helmet. We completed it in 28 minutes, no wipes. Even completed it on my 29 Warlock and my Fatebringer still destroyed. Only thing I had to do there was dropping the sword for a 32 who could frag the Gatekeeper.

Pretty good rewards. Gaunts and Legs for my new Lock. Already bought Starfire Protocol and New Monarchy gave me a Helmet. So I can become 31 easily. Exotic weapons were less stellar, Patience and Time and Plan C. The former I didn't have in upgraded form, the latter was a shard. I still need a Hawkmoon and Thunderlord.

You got all that from one run? errr how?

two nightfalls and two weekly's out of the way for another week. Nightfall was surprisingly easy with the arc burn equipped Patiences and time, and a blue arc rocket launcher. My reward was another dragons breath, and shards so yet again I continue the nearly unbroken run of mainly coins and useless shards peppered with the odd exotic I already have. I turned it off at half ten (after a few unsuccessful attempts to get on the ledge and solo the first part of the raid) feeling completely peed off and questioning why i put in so much time for so little reward.

I got nothing from 4 hours yesterday - about 15 crappy blue items. Am quire close to hitting LVL 30 now without access to any raids though so I guess that is something.
