Did you not do any strikes, raids, patrols or crucibal stuff? the single player stuff is pretty easy to polish off quickly, i found the game became more intresting once that stuff was out of the way. its all about loot after the story bits finished. The games most fun when tackling the harder stuff like the weekly or nightfalls strikes or working out how to get through the vault of glass with a team.

Cant wait for the new raid to land but I'm gonna be away on the 10th when this comes out it would seem though

Try and level up more uli, armour with light stats do that.
Makes the game much easier but having better weapons unfortunately is a must!
I first did a weekly with terrible weapons and I struggled badly, luckily the bloke with me was really good and carried me through it. Now I have some decent weapons and can hold my own.

if your on ps4 i will happily take you through some strikes or weekly's to get you some better stuff, playing the strike playlist is a must and picking up bounty's as you do it will up your vanguard rank and marks in a couple of nights play. You will be able to buy legendary armour from your vanguard handler after that.

Just read the notes on the new expansion.

They've added an option to upgrade your existing Exotic armour and weapons to take them beyond 300, but doing so will reset all the progress and involves Xur. Back to grinding for gear we've already spent hours grinding for doesn't sound like much fun.

The Weekly Heroic and Nightfall are being increased to level 30 too, so they're inline with the new content.

Whilst still random, the new Raid's drops will be weighted towards things you haven't already received and primary weapons will only drop in the hard Raid and that's not going live until January.

Having to upgrade exotics from scratch is a bit of a piss-take, given that you can only effectively upgrade one exotic weapon and one exotic piece of armour at a time. A bit of a kick in the face to those of us who have spent a significant amount of time fully upgrading our exotics. Only being able to buy a new piece of vendor legendary gear after getting to a new Crucible/Vanguard level sounds like an awful grind too. Aside from all the new content, the new raid loot system sounds a lot better though. Let's hope they apply the same logic to the VoG raid at some point soon. Maybe they already have though, as my two hard raid runs this week have been ridiculously generous - 3 pieces of raid armour I didn't have, plus 3 raid weapons I didn't have.

The official Bungie forums and Reddit are currently in meltdown over the exotic reset. I'll be surprised if they don't backtrack on this before Tuesday's DLC release. The biggest problem is that it takes so long to get the XP before you can even start upgrading.

The core success to any MMO style game is having a great relationship between community and developers, just check out how great blizzard are, im not saying they always make the right choice but the dialogue between parties is vast.

it's only one armour piece that will needs resetting and it will be worth it to get the two extra light levels so I'm not to fussed also its just xp and one exotic ascendant shard needed to lvl up so its not as if you will be scraping about for ascendant shards like before. What other way could they do it?? I thought they would require a full new set of raid armour to get to lvl 32 so at least its not as bad as that.

Great so the hard raid won't be available till a month after release, this reeks of Bungie saying we haven't finished it yet.

Words can not describe how bad these changes are, Xur will now become a real blocker for upgrading gear. Reseting exotics what are they thinking......................................

thanks mate, unfortunately i am on Xbox One with Destiny. but i will give the game another go and try to level up once i finished GTA5.

btw, Bungie emailed me recently that some new Legendary weapon would be waiting for me at the Postmaster.... another reason to check it out again.

It's not just one armour piece that will reset if you decide to upgrade it, it's also ALL your exotic weapons. The best way they could have done it, instead of resetting everyone's hard earned existing upgrades (which has taken a not insignificant number of hours) would have been to add a new upgrade tree for the existing exotics. This way you don't penalise everyone who put in the effort in the first place.

I think it might need a bit more to get to overall Level 32, but it's hard to tell for certain at the mo given what little confirmed info I can find.

I still think it will need either a full new raid set, or three new raid pieces and one new DLC exotic or one upgraded existing exotic.

I'm pretty sure the new exotics or upgraded existing exotics will have a higher individual light rating than 30, as this is tied to the defense rating which will be increasing. If the new raid gear matches that as implied in the quote above (and as it does now with VoG armour and existing exotics), surely you'd need full new set of stuff?

Or I'm completely wrong hahahahaha!

Also, from reading the gi article, it seems to upgrade an existing exotic armour to the newer higher defense stat will require you to spend an exotic shard and 7k glimmer (or thereabouts) as and when Xur offers the piece you need, then go through all the upgrades again, so more xp, glimmer and another exotic shard. Although, if Xur doesn't have the piece you need, and if the new higher rated exotics still only cost 13 coins, it's only a 6 coin difference to buy an upgrade a new exotic piece, as well as a 7k glimmer saving, so not so bad.

Or I'm completely wrong again hahahahaha!

It seems to me that once the DLC drops, all current legendary items, regular or raid, will no longer have the highest possible stats, ie attack, defense, light rating, and there will be no way to upgrade them to higher levels. Rather you will have to rely on drops for both or buy regular legendary items as and when you rank up and get the necessary commendation (which I assume is a 1 for 1 purchase only), and even then the newer upgraded legendary armour won't have enough light to hit overall level 32 (only new raid armour will). All exotics will be able to be upgraded to the new higher stats, or you can rely on drops or buy new higher rated pieces and upgrade those.

Or I'm completely wrong again hahahahaha!

Feel free to add me on the xbox one mate, when you get a few more levels up you can do the daily challenges on the hardest setting, I can breeze through them so could help you out.
