If bungie are charging this much for some new weapons, armour and a few strikes, how much are they going to price entire planets with proper content added, like titan for example with missions, patrols etc, ?100? ?200?. They must of plucked this packs figure out of thin air.

Thats if they even bother adding new locations to this game, i have a feeling they wont.

its been argued that for bungie to provide value for money they need to add one and a half planets worth of content for each expansion and this is something that clearly they are not going to do with these first two bits of DLC.

They had already sold tons of limited edition versions with the expansion pack built into the price. their is no way to lower the price without pissing off the early adopters. I think they realised now that there isn't enough content its one of the biggest criticisms levelled at the game but what can they do all the marketings out there and they have sold a ton of season one passes allready.

They could re-brand the season pass into a yearly content pass and lay down some promises on what they plan to deliver, this way the pass will sell more as it will now seem a lot better value and bungie will make more money and keep the player base there for when new stuff lands.

Destiny is a fantastic looking game most mmo's have repeated architecture and scenery, so it doesn't take much to add new content to them. The problem here is destiny is a game that has a really memorable game worlds with recognisable scenery and areas that are unique and solidly built, there is no glitch-ing or tearing in the graphics everything is sold and well put together, and i feel this is Bungies undoing, to create new planets and content requires a ton of development time and money and they don't have the time to keep up with the players now its out in the wild.

All this should of been thought of well in advance. Its been rumoured to of been in development for over 5 years of full on dev time (this was the game rumoured to of been started straight after halo ce remember).

So surely, someone, at some point in testing sat down with the team and said, ok guys, the single player planets have ben rinsed in a weekend and quicker by some testers, we need more after content for this, and fast.

I fail to see how no one mentioned or said this.

I do agree with your points however, it looks fantastic, even on ps3, is solid as a rock and has a great combat system, its so dam satisfying to pop a head off with a hand cannon, or chuck a throwing knife 100 yards and land a head shot, the kinetics really are spot on. I just wish they would stop messing around with these strikes and give me real, meaty content to chew through.

I wonder how much of the campaign being pulled apart and the DLC was influenced by Activision.

This stuff was on the disk for sure. A one meg patch and i could play lol

?12-15 for this patch and the next one (2 new raids 3-4 new strikes, 6-7 missions, 5 new mp maps would have been ok) and it all seems to be drawn out to make a very small amount of content last much longer than it should.

I got this close to buying some legendary weapons. Aaaaaaaaaand bungie pull the rug out from me yet again. Now need commendation marks to buy them. 1 commendation mark per crucible rank. Well that should only take a few months for a rank in the crucible then. Effffffffing sake.

There was a 2GB+ patch last week which contained the bulk of the new content. There are assets and areas in the DLC that were not present in the original game, even including the areas you could glitch into pre-patch. Getting to light level 31 isn't going to be much of a grind at all, especially if you've been playing the Vault of Glass raid over the last month or so and have been saving up ascendant materials. I imagine it'll take most people less than a week of fairly casual play. It helps that you only need the new commendations for two peices of armour, and most likely most people will be upgrading an exotic helm instead of buying the new Vanguard/faction helms, so you really only need 1 commendation to fully upgrade to 31. Personally, I'm enjoying the new content. Yes, it's pretty much more of the same, but there are some nice deviations and it still has the rock-solid gunplay and that all-out chaos element on the higher difficulty settings.

All the blue rare weapons now go up to almost 300 attack level, so for most of the original game content, you'll be fine with fully powered up rares. Rather than grinding to get commendation medals, I'd be inclined to wait for legendary items to drop from blue engrams and cryptarch level-up rewards. Also, every time you level up the Vanguard or factions to a new level (from level 3 onwards), as well as receiving a commendation, you'll also receive a legendary item from them.

Went through the new story stuff last night as well as the new strike (nightfall and weekly) and while a lot of the locations are reused there are a few new areas, its a little bit underwhelming from this point of view as it feels like treading old ground. One level in particular pulls a ridge racer by just being a previous level in reverse with a few new bad guys thrown in. the strike reuse a bit of old ground too, but being level 30 is quite nerve racking as you have to be slow and careful to get through.

It got me thinking if there reusing old assets what's to stop them chucking together a ton of strikes for the play-list and reusing old locations the two new ones seem a bit mean and miserly when there 90% old content. there is no way a large team are in charge of DLC if this is all they have come up with, It's almost like this content was held back for the DLC.

Don't get me wrong I quite liked the missions and events that have also been added to the game it was nice to have something new to do after three months of playing the same bits, we also noticed that they have made the public events harder which is quite cool, so no doubt there will be loads of little surprises.

I'm not sure if you get the Commendation at Faction level 3 or 4.

I've only got a Vanguard Commendation from going around again, but already long past level 3 with them.

Each of my Factions are at 3 apart from the Crucible, so can't test with any of them in a hurry and not playing Crucible at the moment. Too much to do in the environment.

The DLC is absolutely terrible. Its a torture to play that story just to access the Weekly. Especially on alts. The sad thing is, the best part of the DLC is the fact dinklebot is AWOL. Thank god. And new mechanics? Yeah, a debuff like not being able to jump for a time. wow.

Crota's End is good though, I'd give it that. Better than VoG in about every way. Also artistically.

Also nice that the first chest gives an Exotic at random. And that one can be reached by anyone who is able to enter the Raid, no single shootout involved. Ran it twice, got Gjallarhorn on my second try. Which brings me to another issue with this game. To be up to snuff with the new content I have to upgrade this second Gjallarhorn, a weapon I upgraded to 300 last month, all over again just for the new damage cap.

You're not upgrading it from scratch though, as the new one starts from 300, and you don't need any ascendant energy this time either.

You only get commendations from the crucible or vanguard levels, not from factions, did future war cult to level 2 last night and got nothing for it.

edit . just re red your post, sorry, so you get a commendation for the factions but only past level 3, so hit level 4 and get a commendation for future war cult for example?

                                I think it's from level 3 onwards.
