I watched the twitch reveal and I think it's going to be one of those things where it's more fun to play than watch. It does look like a fair amount of coordination is required to succeed so it's going to feel very different from the strikes where it's usually every man for himself. The official site only mentions one new strike - do Playstation owners get an extra one again? There's talk on the Bungie forums that there's still one more big reveal before HoW is released. Maybe they're going to surprise us with a VoG remix...

Bungie pretty much nailed the gameplay mechanics and created a fantastic world which i hope will get better and even more interesting to explore in terms of story and lore.

the new co-op mode looks good but i am sure it wont hold interest as long as a new Raid probably would.
This is sort of true. Destiny gameplay and weapons are easily the best on the market. I couldn't get into BF anymore and sold it. But I still play Destiny PvP. I did abandon the PvE about 4 months ago since I own all exotics (and VoG/CE weapons) and hated Crota's End. The repetitive PvE antics killed my brain.

But I still fire it up to play some Iron Banner now and then. And I usually push on to Rank 5 each time because I enjoy the gun fights. Addicted to re rolling weapons too. Got perfect Radegast, Jolder, Timur, Silimar and Efrideet. I missed out on Felwinter and Gheleon when they were in the random pool, was gutted lol.

Destiny has far and away the best gunplay out there. I come to notice it when I try BF etc, and how stiff and arbitrary those games feel. Go ADS, single burst and kill. And be killed. Its incredibly boring. I think Destiny is somewhat reminiscent of the old twitch shooters with armor, its not like first draw wins CoD stuff. The weapons have identity, I like most of the exotics. TLW feels like western (nothing more satisfying than hip fire kills with this), and Monte Carlo is awesome for its insta melee regen. Red Death is the balls for its shield regen. Thunderlord has this ping sound and sparks. Red Death is my favourite, but I never stick with one weapon for long.

No HoW dicussion yet? I like what I've played so far, more so than The Dark Below DLC. It feels a lot meatier - new enemies, more new music, a much more friendlier updgrade system, and a stunning final story mission. Seriously, that level is gorgeous. There are some surprises along the way too that hark back to player's favourite part of the game, that I thought was a nice touch. Story telling seems to take a more prominent role too, with a lot more chatter during story missions. The new Reef cryptarch is occasionally hilariously sarcastic too. I think I prefer the Reef to the Tower as a social space, it has a lot more personality about it. It's just a shame that there's very little to do there.

I didn't think I'd get over the fact that there's no new raid, but from playing PoE lvl28, lvl 32, and lv34 (as a lvl33 character) I think they've atually done a decent job of it. It really isn't just the bland horde mode that the twitch reveal made it look like. There's plenty of teamwork and strategies required, and some raid-like problem solving too. The lvl34 PoE boss is easily the most sadistic thing Bungie have created yet. It seems impossible at first, but it won't take long for you to start forming strategies. This DLC seems to be very generous with its rewards too, to the point that it's been totally overwhealming with all the new gifts being thrown at you left, right, and centre. It doesn't help that there's yet more new currencies either, Bungie need to find a solution to this as it's just going to alienate new players. Vault space has already become an issue again and the DLC has only been out 2 days.

If you're into PvP, and intend to play Trials of Osiris, this new package is likely to last you the four months before the next DLC arrives around September. If not, then I recon there isn't going to be enough content here to last that long. If they had included another small Crota's End style raid as well as PoE, this would have been perfect, and would have made amends to those who felt short changed by The Dark Below.

its great too busy enjoying it to post about it lol. I've spent a far bit of time in the prison and this is great fun and feels fresh, the new story missions took me a whole evening to go through and where all excellent.

Even the build up was good with the wolves events and the ability to farm keys, it gave everyone a reason to go back down on patrol and made these social spaces feel alive again.

loving my new dead orbit armour and I have got three of the new queens weapons too so im back aboard the loot train

Did the queens bounties before how landed and they instantly made patrols a lot better, only played 2 story missions so far so can't pass judgement on that yet.

I like it a lot more than Croata however already, feels like it's actually had some effort and polish put into it.

Really like the prison of eldars guard too, very well voiced

Yeah, I've really enjoyed the new Queen's Bounties too in the lead-up to the 19th. A lot of fun when there's a big group of strangers running around with the new heavy weapon, especially when it all kicks off when a 2nd public event triggers at the same time. They need to do more of this kind of thing to encourage the social aspect on patrols. Like you say, it makes the otherwise pedestrian patrols come alive. It isn't much of a grind to get to lvl33/lvl34 either, this time it's all about the Etheric Light, collecting all the new weapons and upgrading all your old stuff.

Have you found any ethiric light yet bcass? Done the patrols quite a few times for the chests along with the bounties and so far haven't received any, nor anyone I've played with so far.

The chests don't give etheric light. The best thing you can get from chests is a treasure key. You can only get etheric light as rewards from nightfalls, Trials of Osiris, and two, once a week by completing both lvl34 and lvl35 PoE.

Uggghhhhh, so much for making the upgrade path easier . Ill have to start levelling new armour then to get to lv34 to stand a chance in prison of elders lv34&5.

Just come across something slightly disappointing - the new Fallen-styled "blue" raid tier primary weapons don't have elemental damage, and they only have 2 perks each.

You don't need any new armour to get to level 34, all you need is 1 exotic shard (to ascend an exotic peice of armour) and 3 etheric lights to upgrade existing legendaries.
