Pikmin 2

I don't know if anyone can help me.
I'm in the 3rd world and in the 2nd dungeon (with play blocks that contain you in).
About the 2nd or 3rd level in, there are these bugs that don't hurt you but steal dead creatures once you kill them, anyway next to one of their "holes" my radars going off like a dog in heat! Does anyone know how you uncover the hidden object there because I can't fathom it out.

You need to grab the item before the breadbug (?) creatures drag them underground. If you get enough pikmin on the case they can drag an item back to the base even if there is a breadbug on it.

Yeah I knew how to overwhelm the creatures by getting more Pikmin to pull the dead creature, it was that when I stand next to one of their "holes" my radars going off and I don't know how to go about finding the hidden item.

On all the chambers in that cavern, I never had to dig, but I did have to chase bugs before they dragged items underground.

Maybe you need to get in there sooner, or maybe you need to wait for a bug to drag an item out of the ground?

Thanks Papercut, I think I'll have to re-try that level again then at least I know I don't have to dig anything up!

unless there is a normally hidden item next to a bug lair (by chance), in which case grab a couple of albinos just in case.

Having just completed the final level of that dungeon, I killed the big "stealing" bug by pulling a dead bug with it still pulling as well, this then damaged it when the dead bug is being transported to the ship, I then piled a few purples on to finish it off, and viola an item appeared.
So I reckon I have to do a similar thing for the earlier level and kill off the smaller "stealers" that way then missing item will probably appear.

Dunno if this is a freak coincidence or what but my radar was going off in a dungeon (cant remember which) and I couldn't see anything...

However when i walked over it with my pikmin (red, sumo and white) the white ones started digging up the ground and uncovered an item...

Maybe this is what you need to do...

how many areas are there in this, i just (finally) been playing some more and got up to 80%, but still only 3 areas unlocked.
i seem to remember the first one had four and one final small stage....is my memory playing tricks?

my bf and i have managed to get 4 stages [so far]. managed to get him to let me keep pikmin II for a while [incl the memory card], but been too scared to venture into the 4th stage on my own... >______________<

but i think there are only 4 stages - just like the 1st one. read that somewhere, can't remember where tho! ;p

Yeah, just the four stages (although the last few dungeons are pretty meaty).

I?m still overly content with trekking through this gem of a game. I?m on day 35 ? around 23hours of play - yet with still around 90 items to collect, god knows how many dungeons to complete and enemies to encounter. I?ve found myself on many occasions blissfully just spending time growing Pikmin, defeating foes and absorbing the soothing atmosphere?

The 4th stage is quite incredible. Looks and sounds lovely? the red autumn leaves tower above and gently fall to the ground while birds chirp in the background. The environments are obviously far more detailed then those found in Pikmin 1, however the level of detail (plant pots, roots, weeds, tiles and pipes etc) still amazes me.

There have been quite a few puzzles and situations that have the potential to be tackled in more ways then one. Yesterday for example *Possible Spoiler* during one of the floors in a dungeon i was faced with 2 of the End Game Bosses from Pikmin 1 and noticed several bombs laying around. Therefore spent a few moments pushing these near the snoozing beast... then decisively woke it and used the bombs to my advantage

Alternatively when i re-fought these guys i used a few white Pikmin to render them unconscious then chucked an entire army of Blue Pikmin at
them

Still haven?t been able to try out multiplayer yet though. Hopefully soon.
