Dakims pair were a real pain with Earthquake. Fortunately the only casualty was the Earthquake makers "partner" who I had seriously depleted... he fainted!! I think I then managed to dispose of the maker before I got hit by too many Earthquakes... the joys of some serious levelling up I suppose.

it's not enough to beat your opponent with higher level pokemon in colosseum. A lot of the time, you're gonna be facing opponents of a similar level or higher, especially in the colosseum bit. All the Mt Battle 100 in Colosseum mode are at the same level as your highest level Pokemon, and although they start weak, you can tell by the fifties or sixties you're gonna run into problems.

You need a healthy mix of attacks and defensive and/or annoying moves like Confuse Ray to succeed.

And I LOVE it when an opponent uses Earthquake, knocks the tiniest sliver of HP off of your two, then totally wipes out it's partner. Effective also with Misdreavus and Electrode opponent teams. Knock out the Misdreavus as fast as possible and chances are it'll be replaced by a type that's affected by Explosion, and gets wiped out, so that's three opponents gone in the first round. Whoohoo!

To digress slightly, does anyone ever actually use Bug or fighting moves? I know that fighting's good against dark, but almost all the darks have another type too which can be exploited... I really dislike fighting type moves and pokemon as well. **** the hitmon trio....

Yea, my 'Ken has that strong fighting kick, in addition to two flame moves and thunder punch (IIRC). Low Kick is one of my fave moves, it's fairly strong and manages to catch a few 'mon out. I've seen it a lot on non-fighting types, odd.

          Hitmontop is aces

Anyone else see the flaw in this thread (at 14 pages) being called "Just a Quick Gripe." Besides, Digimon pwns Pokemon. Yellow rat Vs. Bug with laser sword. I know where my money is

(Come on, you didn't think I was going to let a Pokemon thread go to waste, did you?)

The quick gripe was over in about 5 posts (except for my little one a few posts up). Now we're talking about the amazing strengths of the series... The title is consistent - Digi-loser!

Urgh.... Digimon.... I feel sullied, and not in a nice way.. Digi**** is not even comparable to Pokemon even in the TV series... And where's the plethora of amazing console and handheld games about Digimon then? (hawks) phtoo!

And it was MY quick gripe which has since been terminated, and now we're talking about other things of tremendous wolrd-wide importance... And since we're all adults here, Digimon blows white-hot chunks of total suckiness... Here's my impression of the main boy in Digimon (whatever his name is, feeb-boy i think)

Feeb boy:- "Doi! I'm king retard! I'm using Retardmon..."

From the content of this topic I can see that I am going to have to do some serious studying as I haven't been playing the games that long (Ruby was the first). I am currently working my way through Pokemon Yellow and Gold (I have silver in reserve and just managed to get a Blue and Red on eBay also Stadium 2 as it seemed to get some positive reactions).

The stadium and colosseum games aren't bad, but they lose a lot of the fun of the rpg hand held games. No matter what anyone says about Gold/Silver and Ruby/Sapphire, Red and Blue is still my favourite and nothing yet has managed to beat the fun of just wandering around in the poorly animated Kanto. And the 2d, badly drawn pokemon of the original games, that only looked fractionally like the TV series ones, were just too cool..

I haven't received Blue and Red yet. Yellow and Gold look pretty good. Never watched the TV series.

The telly series was a bit saccharine (I think ****e, might be more accurate) but at least it can be connected to one of the most powerful and successful franchises in the world, that endlessly has record breaking sales... Digimon? What's that?

Only gripe I have is the lack of Pok?mon voices in the console titles. They did it in Stadium (1, I think... might have been 2) with Yellow's Pikachu, so why not the others?

                            Argh!

They haven't done it on any format or any game. It's always been the metallic bleep-bleep grrrr from the Gameboy color ever since. A disappointing omission, sure, but I'm positive it would get damn annoying after awhile on Colosseum.

You have no more gripes about Colosseum? Read the 1st 5 threads please and tell me you disagree...

Yea they did, Pok?mon yellow's Pikachu does the voice when transferred and used on Pok?mon Stadium.

edit: But yea, that's my only real gripe ^_^ While it isn't as deep as the Gameboy games and the stadium battles are lacking in configuration options, useability (compared to the N64 outings), I still enjoyed the game.
