The best feeling in the world

We're all gamers here, so I know you'll relate to what I'm about to say.

Taking advantage of an afternoon lull at work, I found a quiet corner and finished of Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga for the GBA.

I personally found that last boss to be somewhat tricky, and it took me several attempts before I finally beat it. As such, there was lots of frustrated huffing and puffing and silent cursing on my part. However, perseverance eventually paid off (as it so often does), and I made that boss my bitch.

Now from childhood, one of the best things about gaming for me has always been the buzz you get from finally overcoming a troublesome end boss; of finally beating a game that's been taunting you. The feeling is indescribable; knowing that you've finally done it. You've faced a challenge and overcome it.

You feel on top of the world. Indestrucible. And you can't wait to move on to the next game and do it again. In a strange way, it's almost like a drug.

So can you relate to what I'm saying? When was the last time gaming did that to you and what was the game? Please share here.

That buzz. Non-gamers don't know what they're missing.

    Too many to remember.

Finally unlocking the White Angel car on Ridge Racer Revolution took me a while (coupla days), then I was the only guy at school who had it. I lost count of how many people borrowed my memory card off me for the file, I had all sorts of strangers coming up to me.

As if the initial excitement and euphoria wasn't enough, a certian degree of fame came along with the acheivement, if only all the biatches played RR.

Going all the way through SFII on the SFC set at level 7 without losing a round

Amazing times... with SFII in the early 90's

Finishing Story Mode of F-Zero GX, even on just Normal setting. I was convinced I simply could not do it, so the feeling of pure bliss when I actually did was unbelievable!

Those were certainly the days, actually made a few dollars loaning my memory card out to fellow schoolmates.

the worst bit is that when other people ask why you're in such a good mood, and you say "I just completed xxxxxxx", they think you're a sad bastard with no life!! ho hum...

Hmm theres been lots, also has anyone been so nervous on a last boss that they are actually shaking after it?

Beating Ganon for the final time on OOT has to be a defining moment, no other boss up untill that moment felt so epic for me.

There are others but I cant really remember them right now.

Finally finishing GoldenEye on 00Agent would have been... had I got all the cheats by then. Getting all the cheats was pretty good, but left me with an empty feeling. But then... you still have multiplayer and 007 mode! So. Hmmm.

Oh, and he might be a gimp but Wizpig was an arse. And so was that bloody Mizar in JFG... hard boss right there. :/

I still remember (I was a kid) the night when I finished Turrican on C64, I have waked up my brother to tell him!

More recently, when I put the 10th frag in the forehead of Xaero, I've spent a full afternoon trying...

Completing WaveRace64 on the most difficult level and coming first every race put a smile on my face. I loved that game so much, played it all the time, thats why I am the master at it.

I felt wicked being top on the Konami website score board for MGS: substance (handgun VR missions and VF Blade missions). Also felt nice S ranking Panzer Dragoon Orta on Hard Mode

Killing Mizar in JFG. Oh blimey.

Was grinning like a sadistic loon for days afterwards.
