Aye, those forum prices are a little high of late, from certain folk. Maybe something needs adding to the rules, like checking the price of certain items before posting. Maybe a post in the forum feedback bit...

Oh, you guys should speak to the Gamestation folk up your end as those prices are bonkers. I'm sure a recent SoM cart was about ?15 by me >_<

The local one near me sells Retro are rediculous prices.

Tatty Boxed Super Nes with unboxed Zelda and Super Metroid? = ?75

        Unboxed Sega CDX - ?150 !

And yes i also do enjoy trading stuff in. Paid ?6 for some games, took them around to GS, ?36 trade in. That'll do me.

?10 for the popular GC games is great.

What are you talking about specifically?

Seriously though, I would find trading in games to be quite handy at times. Of course next to all my stuff is NTSC so I'm exempt, and even still, eBay isn't that much more of a problem considering how much more you get.

Although the price of Secret of Mana at the Gamestation store in Union Street seems a bit high they actually offer 40 quid cash for it if you trade it in to them however I do agree that some of their retro stuff is stupidly overpriced, like the Sega Nomad they have for 200 quid which I swear was 100 last tme I was in.

Game's pre-owned stuff is a total joke now the majority of it is way overpriced, the best one I've spotted lately is MegamanX 7 at 2p cheaper than it is brand new(what a bargain) and there is often a difference in price between second hand platinum and original boxed games on PS2 as well. Seems like that 99p trade in deal wasn't such a stupid move after all.

I was in G-Force today as well and really can't fathom how they can expect 200 quid for those Final Fantasy figures, "extremely rare" my arse.

the whole point of buying a second hand game is that it saves you money, but to me it totally erradicates the point of buying something if the store has felt the need to scibble on the game in various places witha red marker pen. I'd rather pay the difference for a new one (in a different shop)

The dreaded marker of doom is no longer in use at most Game stores since the new pre-owned system was implemented, they're all stickered now instead(so Adolf should be pleased).

Anyone buying stuff from Game that has access to the Net is insane.

Game is a shop for high-street consumers not people into games. I guess most people that buy stuff from them aren`t worried about paying top-whack.

Its pointless moaning about Game, we all know what they are like and who they are for.

Just be happy that the Net exists and use Amazon, imo they are the best.

I recently picked up Suikoden 2 for ?8 from a GAME pre-owned bin. It's the perfect place for picking up real bargains on the high street as well being the worst place. Basically knowledge is power and game have no knowledge so abuse it.

Does anyone know the best method for removing the afformentioned "red ink of death" as it really pisses me off. A beautiful piece of gaming collectability spoilt by some grunt with a felt tip pen. ft:

Buy a permanent marker remover: they're normally white and you can get them from places like WH Smith or Staples...

They "loosen" the ink then soak it up.... you could also try any nail-varnish remover that has acetone in it with a cotton bud but BE CAREFUL! You can end up just spreading the ink around and making it worse...

Modding the sales forums takes enough time as it is without enforcing rules on pricing.

People are free to ask for what they want for their games - if it's too high then they simply won't sell.

Spot on. I can't understand why anyone would want to go into overpriced high-street shops when they can shop for much cheaper without leaving their seat.

                              Yes, I am lazy.

Well, I didn't mean extra work, just a note in the forum rules about checking the price out before posting a topic selling something. Guidelines, that is all.
