Er 30 fps on a TV means a nice smooth image, 60 fps does look a little rough at times.
Interesting so you reckon 30 fps looks better?

I'd love to see PGR 2 at 60 fps, it would make all the difference! Shame about the dull colour palette tho

30 fps with no slowdown/juddering/popup bladdy bladdy looks better

60 fps on a TV (ie interlaced, not progressive scan) looks awful as you get half a picture per frame.

30fps better then 60? Shut up MD.
60fps is better. It affects control, animation and visual smoothness.

If 30fps is better then why do devs always aspire to run at 60? Clot.

              Nice JB pic.heh.

When you put something on the cover I'm expecting an extended preview or extra info yet every time it's just like all the other (laarger) previews. Bit pedantic maybe but I just find it disappointing.

                Good stuff otherwise though...
It's a fair point, and one we're addressing. I think that this issue's cover is justified, mind. We'll hopefully continue to have a better cover/content relationship.

I think both Burnout and Outrun should have been marked 1 less. But who cares what I think! Not me!

MSR was a pile of skank. Thusly, I have never played PGR or PGR2.

Good news, cheers. And yr totally right about this month's issue, I'd only had a quick flick through and hadn't noticed the huge gta article...

This is a very good point and part of the reason why I stopped getting the mag. I began to feel cheated each time I brought it.
Good to hear it might be changing but the question has to be asked... WHY was it like this in the first place!

We're no different than any other mag (although I admit that some of the early covers were a little questionalble (Devil May Cry 2 on issue 3 for example).

You still doing the retro section Strider? I particularly enjoyed this months. I don't know why exactly but its my favourite so far. Just seemed to have a good mix of stuff in it I think.

Otherwise generally good. Except my usual annoyance with previews / comments on future games. This time tucked in the GTA article: "the next GTA is going to be the best yet". Personally I like to hold my judgements until I've played the finished product (which I suppose you may have done). This isn't a GamesTM specific complaint. It bugs me about most previews in most magazines.
