It would be ED, afaik the ARM's still don't have an FPU except maybe the ARM 7500, infact the DS and the NGage are of the same heritage being RISC and ARM archetecture.

I'll have a look, its an ARM 7 and 9 aint it.

It's odd though, some of the 3D looks pretty sweet, yet some looks... well, like Ridgey here.

I guess it'll come down to how it looks on screens that size.

I`m no graphics whore but those ridge racer ds shots do look pretty bad and even the playstation 1 Ridge racers look nicer. But after seeing the mario DS screen shots then seeing it in action i will take these screens shots with a pinch of salt. As for the touch screen handling, no thanks give me the d pad any day.

Problem with this game is that NST are developing it and they are putting 99% of their efforts into Metroid Hunters, which shows off some decent 3D capability. They would be better off delaying this game because it needs to be polished graphically and apparently the controls are ****e too.

If you look at a GBA game running on a PC via emulation (with no screen filters), you will be shocked at how ropey the graphics look.

Somehow running it through the GBA's tiny lcd (with relatively large gaps between each pixel) filters the image and makes it look far nicer in the same way that scanlines on TV's 'enhance' console visuals.

So I would not worry at this stage, looking at the pictures it should look at least as good as the PS1 game when running on the actual machine and that is more than good enough for me.

I think they are scraping the barel in terms of finding a usage for the second screen.

I agree BUT at the same time I ask, Why should they have to even use the second screen? It is an option in a system full of development options. Why don't they just release RR DS with N64 graphics and wireless multiplay on a handheld? Surely that could be a great game. But then, to add a course layout/map on the second screen, although seen as EVIL, is a nice additional extra.

Why don't they use the bottom screen as the main screen and the top screen as the rear view mirror?? but then again that might get a bit confusing!!

Because only one screen can display '3D' at a time.
I can't understand how people seem to be reading so much into the screen shots released so far?

As has been pointed out, they are straight screen captures showing on a PC's screen. Their BOUND to look crap. When their seen in their true environment and whizzing around everywhere they will look great.

All I'm concerned with is how it will play and what it handles like? Its Mario 64x4 only at the moment for me.

I think that has been disproved somewhere.

                                first review at gamespot

Ridge Racer DS's awkward driving and collision models feel very dated by today's standards.

was hoping this might be good, looks like Asphalt is better.
