indeed, 00/01 won't have it, merely because the ports were done before any x-box shenanigans, so these seem to be like reworkings of the PS2 versions of 2000 and 2001.

meanwhile, the boxart on 02/03 (from videogamesplus.ca) has a live banner, so there's probably the chance that SNK bolted on the Live modes from SNK vs Capcom.

Hopefully they've tweaked it, those crazy cats at shoryuken have mentioned that the netcode from SVC is shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit.

So, has KOF 00/01 actually come out today, or has it failed to emerge once again ?

Everywhere's giving different dates again, ranging from two days ago all the way through to two weeks time

        Nope, hasn't turned up again.

Ignition is a really ****ty publisher that isn't doing the SNK name any service whatsoever. They even have KOF Maximum Impact down for Xbox release on their press-posters - it's not even being made!!!!

SVC Chaos is due out on the 28th of this month, i'm betting on an April release :S

Man, I was hoping 00/01 would come out today, as it'll probably in WH Smiths 2 for ?20, that way I could get it along with Metal Slug 3

I'll be giving SVC Chaos a miss, I had it on the PS2 for a while and it's not my cup of tea-I am looking forward to the KOF 02/03 double pack though as I havent played KOF 03 yet

Gotta take issue with that statement mate. I think Ignition are doing a pretty fine job considering the British public couldn't give two hoots about SNK games. Metal Slug 3 was discounted by GAME and other high street stores only a few weeks after release so it obviously didn't sell many copies. Yet the effort put into the packaging of the game is excellent. Personally I'm thankful that a company has finally decided to give us PAL versions of these games.

At the end of the day Ignition are very brave for releasing these titles in the UK and they should be praised for it. You can't expect a small company to bust their ass to get titles out on time when no fooker is going to buy them. Besides you don't know what other factors have come into play with this.

What Duddyroar said. It's impossible to harm the SNK brand in the UK, because it has absolutely no reputation anyway, outside of a few hardcore fans. If it hadn't been for Ignition, chances are that we'd never have seen these games given a PAL release at all - certainly not the Xbox versions, anyway.

That said, they really need to get their lines of communication sorted out. It's obvious that none of the shops have any idea what's going on again - Play have KoF00/01 down as 'Out now - awaiting stock', Simplygames have removed their release date, Gameplay say that it's out on the 16th of this month, Amazon still think it came out in November last year... It's a complete mess and can't be doing their reputation any good with retailers.

Yeah; how crap are Ignition giving us budget priced, 60Hz enabled SNK games with decent cover art and reasonably comprehensive manuals?!

                BASTARDS!!!

I think thats the problem at the moment, they're not giving them to us.

They keep teasing..... and teasing.... and its so close you can taste it.... and then BAM ! its snatched away from us like Candy supplies at Fat Camp

Maybe I should just give up and get the PS2 version. Thats out, right ?

The PS2 version is out, available for peanuts and has 60Hz.
Without Live support I see no reason to wait for the Xbox version.

True that. Time to get my order in and stop this KOF-teaseathon in its tracks

To be honest, I think that given the relative qualities of visual output, I think that the more 'lurid' and/or 2D games above other genres look better through RGB SCART on the PS2 than they do on the Xbox.

The only reason I've got Xbox versions of SFAC and GGX2#Reload is the Live play.*

                        *I'm utterly **** mind you!

Its a bargain price, but I feel it would be a wasted opportunity to release this without live support for XBOX.

Last I heard, it had gone off to Microsoft for final approval.

I've seen mock-up boxes both with and without the Live flash.

I'm confused, but I think now I'll wait for the 02/03 pack anyway.

Other than the usual release date fuss that they cause I like Ignition. I was impressed with Metal Slug 3's packaging when for ?20 they could have easily just done a 3 page black and white cheap effort for a manual and a Platinum range style disc.

I remember back in October when MS3 and KOF for Xbox were due out on the same day (Oct 10) MS finally showed up on the 14th November, and we're still waiting for KOF ~ Ignition's own website proclaims it's "out now" which shows how unorganized the whole thing is.

That just doesn't cut it, i'd rather have the game to play than some fancy manual i'm gonna read once. And besides, it seems the MS3 packaging is a one off, the KOF PS2 manual is in black and white , around 10 pages thick and doens't have any character bios/movelists.

The phrase "do it right or not at all" comes to mind. And Ignition taking risks? LOL , that's something. The SNK stuff seems like a major bonus for them, i'm sure they made loads of money off guff like Pool Paradise , Super Farm and Sprintcars.
