I've been reading this thread with great interest. I actually thought a site like this would appluad Ignition's decision to bring these games to the UK market. You're always moaning how the great titles always get left out and yet, when a company decides to release them you just complain about it.

Granted, it is a pain in the arse when the dates are getting delayed and that some of the games aren't Xbox Live compatible, but at least the games are getting here and given little Johnny something else to play instead of the latest EA title.

If it's any help, I'll have a word with Ignition's PR and find out what's going on with the release delays on Monday.

It'd be appreciated, dude. I think the vast majority of people who want to see SNK titles in the UK would love to put their full support behind Ignition, but the slightly amateurish release date problems makes it difficult to give them yr unconditional love.

And yeah, do it right or not at all? Rubbish. If we weren't getting these games at all you'd be complaining even more.

Have to agree with this, full colour manual and a nice disc face.

I love it, even my SFAC manual is pants compared to Metal Slugs.

Oh, and Pool Paradise isn't "guff". It's good.

Despite the delays (i mean c'mon every company has delays right) i feel good for some reason when ive seen an snk product on the shelf for next gen console that i see is being ignored by the mass of kiddies racing to get the latest fifa or tony hawks. hell i'll wait, i've got about 50 games i need to play for the first time before i can start thinkin about new purchases.

Ignition is a really ****ty publisher that isn't doing the SNK name any service whatsoever. They even have KOF Maximum Impact down for Xbox release on their press-posters - it's not even being made!!!!

SVC Chaos is due out on the 28th of this month, i'm betting on an April release :S
              That's funny - I got Kof 00/01 PAL version for Christmas - it was in my local gamestation;
I also noticed that the PAL Xbox version of MS3 has the KOFMI trailer in it.

Apparently I've heared from two different sources that the KOF 00/01 is out for the Xbox, but Ignition buggered up the ammount of disk pressings and their subsequent distribution

They're apparently trying to `rebuild` ( thats how it was phrased to me ) enough to get copies out the door to shops. It could be cobblers mind you....

I for one am really glad that Ignition are bringing these games to us

I usually stick to JPN region, but at these prices and with 60Hz modes/live play it'd be rude not to and I'm willing to actively pass up NTSC region stuff and buy PAL versions. At the end of the day, the better these games sell, the more chance there is of them bringing us more titles, which cannot be a bad thing

These games have ?19.99 RRPs but can be found for ?15 on-line, sometimes cheaper, hell I saw Metal Slug 3 in WH Smith today for ?11.99!

I should be getting a PS2 and Xbox at some time this week, does the PS2 version of MS3 have 60Hz mode? as I prefer the RGB output on PS2s

                    Apparently so.

Ignition props here, they should be getting faster,, they claim to have (or be doing so) opened a Japan office to work closer to SNK for future products.

Was thrilled to bits with KOF 00/01 on PS2, the RGB on PS2 obviously kills AES output, and the arranged music levels sound to NGCD level = awsomeness.

Having worked in a videogame store, I can say that it doesn't matter how 'professional' a videogames company is, they ALL bugger up their release dates at some point. Ignition are not the first company to give incorrect release dates and they won't be the last.

Do it right or not at all? Er, no. Personally I couldn't care less if the release dates are wrong, I'm usually too busy to sit outside my local games store waiting for games to come out. I usually just get them as and when they appear. I'd rather get a copy of Metal Slug 3 that's a couple of weeks late (think about it - a couple of weeks isn't really worth getting your knickers in a twist, is it?) than not at all. To say otherwise would be rather foolish.

This is all very reminicent of Guilty Gear X2 on the 'Box.

My Local GAME had 1 copy delivered in the whole of December and were informed that no furthur stocks were expected.
They sold it to me for ?14.99 because it was a slow day.

They also dont expect ever to see any KOF games on X-Box delivered

I suppose it's down to the market at the moment too. These games don't exactly fly off the shelves when they're released for the PS2 - the leading console. I suppose there's very little point in GAME stocking these titles for the second best selling console. Not in every GAME store, anyway.

Emailed Ignition a couple of days ago, asking if they knew when the game was expected to reach shops. Just got a reply now:

Thanks for the mail. As this is the first time KOF 00/01 has been released on Xbox, there have been some technical difficulties. These have now been ironed out, and the game has now gone to Microsoft for final approval.

Due to the time of year, we estimate that the game will be released Late Jan '05.
So I'd say it's looking unlikely that SVC Chaos is going to hit its 28th Jan release date - they're not going to want to be releasing two 2D fighters within a few days of each other, for fear of losing sales on them.

When I asked at Gamestation they had no indication whatsoever of SVC coming in this month... in fact it wasn't on their release lists at all.
