Was thrilled to bits with KOF 00/01 on PS2, the RGB on PS2 obviously kills AES output, and the arranged music levels sound to NGCD level = awsomeness.
Yep, it looks really nice on PS2. I can't compare the port to the Neo Geo AES as I aint got them though. Sweet RGB on the PS2, it will look better then the XBOX version.

I have to say KOF 2000 has some awesome music, props to Ignition, BARGAIN!!!!

We've only just had review code for SNK Vs Capcom Chaos, so it's unlikely to be out at the end of the month.

          01/02 now down for 4th march... http://www.play.com/play247.asp?page...X&title=509470

hahaha. if Chaos comes out on the 28th i'll buy you all donuts.

Ignition sucks, i'd have imported these months ago if i'd have known they'd cock it up so badly.

The PS2 version a friend of mine has is really nice, which makes the no show off the xbox version even more dissapointing. You have to credit the arrnage ST to SNK though, was made before the playmore takeover and was also on the DC version.

Does the PS2 version run in the original low resolution or are the graphics zoomed in to high res? If somebody has info about the screen res in Xbox it would be helpful as well. Also, how is the loading? (especially between fights)

I actually went in to buy King of Fighter 2000 and 2001 for XBOX, which they never had. I then saw the PS2 version of King of Fighters 2000/2001 and remembered I had a PAL PS2, lol, so I picked it up.

BTW. What SNK games do you think should be converted next?

For me a quality conversion of Metal Slug 2 would almost be the best thing ever. First of all it has never had a home conversion (excluding SNK machines). And as it would be slowdown free it would be at least in my book slightly better than MSX which already is one of the best Slugs. Of course I would also love a quality conversion of MSX and of course the best thing ever would be a collection featuring all the Slugs released before SNK went under....

And you'd have paid more for the games, too...can't really see what everyone is complaining about, unless you're likely to die before Ignition release these games (joking aside, a couple of weeks extra wait hardly calls for all these negative posts) then I'm sure it won't kill you to wait.

They got the most important version of 00/01 out on time - the PS2 version. That's the one that will make them the most money.

3 is out already and 4 and 5 are being released as a combo I think...god knows why they have ignored the 1, 2 and X.

Not sure what you mean by zoomed into high res.

Anyway, KOF2000 looks far better than 2001. 2000's graphics are less "jaggy" but I'm not sure if this was the case with the Neo Geo originals anyway.

Load times are virtually non existant, only when you first load the game up to the title screen from scratch.

KOF2000 is my fave out of the two, better graphics, better music, although I really do like the art in 2001.

Also Venessa kicks ass, yeah sure she's a rip off off Dudley, but who cares :P

Anyway, at ?19.99 its a no brainer.

Zoomed in like running an old low res game on an emulator using a highher resolution than the original. On a tv the result will bring out the blockiness of the low res more clearly. When the original resolution is used the picture has clear black scanlines (when you look close) between the vertical lines. I looks more smooth.

Actually 2000 is a better looking and sounding game. But that's just the art not jagginess etc.

But yea, since the loading ain't a problem I guess there is little point waiting for the Xbox version.

                            Yes, I see now.

2000 looks miles better than 2001 in terms of "jaggies"

I can't afford it now, is the main pisser. I'm on a restrictive budget for everything, not just games, so if something more important pops up while I'm waiting for a game to get released, the pre-order gets cancelled and the cash goes on that instead. Which is what's just happened for me wrt KoF00/01, unfortunately.

And the chances are that once you've cancelled an order you're unlikely to remember to pick then game up in future when you *do* have the money again.

didn't all this guff happen with Psyvariar too? Sony didn't like the Xplosive range packagin so made em delay it, an when it did come out, neither GAME nor GameStation had even heard of the titles, I only managed to get it coz HMV had it in stock. (that has since, but it took a long time, been rectified and all the main game shops seem to have it)
