Filtering, Antialiasing etc can be written in software no prob, there's loads of algorithms to do it but it REALLY increases rendering time when the CPU needs to do it.

interesting comparison, Mario needs a haricut though, starting to look like Mullet Man

I just don't think the DS and N64 are even remotely comparable, they use completely different technology. It's like the difference between an electric and gas oven.

Do you seriously want a bunch of N64 ports on DS? They will all struggle with control, as Mario 64 DD does.

Far more interesting are the new DS games - Yoshi's Touch and Go, and that new Kirby game. Nintendogs too. They are the games that will feel at home on the system.

And Lylat Wars? Who on earth calls it that! It's STAR FOX!

I'm really not bothered about getting a remake of Mario 64. I'd don't mind playing through a superb game for a second or third time, especially if it's been the best part of 10 years, than a merely so-so one for the first time. To me, it feels a bit like having a favourite classic movie re-released on DVD. I know it's not exactly equivalent, as this has been made instead of a new Mario title, but it makes me feel better thinking about it that way.

              lol

I'd really like to see an F-Zero on DS. Not a port, but something. Imagine if you had a proper pit section and you could make repairs with the touchscreen? Immense.

Would probably detract from the constant non-stop effigy that is F-Zero but maybe it's time for a change.

You know, in a NON-Maximum Velocity way.

Easy, rear view mirror, or.... a map.... but the WiFi potential of the DS is borderline pornographic, and infact as Strider has demonstrated is Pornographic in PictoChat...

But that's taking the easy way out. I want something really inventive for F-Zero. Maybe some live streaming information from the front of the pack... ooooo...

In any case, the porn on Pictochat will never be as good as the porn some of the guys here drew on www.isketch.net last night.

I'm running low on inventive... I could squeeze a Rogue Agent gag in here, but I might be shot by the EA goon squad (I'm sure they have one)....

Touch Screen, F-Zero, Two Screens.... nope, I've got nadda.

I didn't play too much of either, but from what I"ve seen I preferred the Playstation way of doing 3D. N64 stuff always looked really, really blurry to me, and would I be right in saying it was more prone to slowdown?

Wish they'd just stuck with making more 2D games... that sort of stuff at least doesn't age horribly.

Am I the only one that thinks interms of visuals the N64 wins? I think the slightly blury graphics lent them selves to the dreamy look of the game. I dont like the new look of the first level as well. I probs just need to see it running to really know.

Certainly from those screenshots I agree, but most seem to say it looks better in motion on the DS.

Erm....but Mario 64 DS is a 1st generation title as well - unless of course I missed the hundreds of previous DS game releases
