Yeah, he did. But

isn't the whole point that Farah dies right near the end, so he uses the Sands Of Time to rewind right back to the start of the game and bring her back to life, which is where the final battle with the Vizier takes place? That's why she doesn't know who he is - the end of the game is actually the very beginning.
